Available via the Game Marketplace over Xbox Live, Ubisoft’s Bloody Good Time demo puts players in the skin of a variety of wannabe movie stars as they compete for fame on set by eliminating the other wannabe’s via a multitude of murder weapons, murder aids and over the top death traps.
The great thing about the second DLC for Alan Wake – called “The Writer” – is it’s the final download for Alan Wake and we get to see the story tied up into a nice neat little bow. The bad thing about the Writer DLC is it could be the final time we actually see Alan Wake.
While the disc-based game was great, the follow-up to that (The Signal DLC) wasn’t as strong and resorted to campy horde mode-esque tactics and meaningless driving. Hit the jump to see how the second and possible end to Alan Wake fares.
According to the bean counters at Capcom, the Xbox Live DLC prequel Case Zero for Dead Rising 2 has broken all records for first week downloads. The downloadable content was released on September 3rd for 4oo Magic Pony Points and as of today has been downloaded over 300,000 times. That’s right, it’s been downloaded more times than Paris Hilton has smuggled nose candy in her va-jay-jay. Oddly enough, both reak of zombies. Any unlockable content from the Case Zero DLC will transfer over to Dead Rising 2.
I tried the demo for the DLC, which was fun (although extremely short) and definitely peaked my interest for the full game. But as tempted as I am to blow the 4oo points sitting in my Xbox Live account, I’m going to wait for the DLC for Monday Night Combat to come out.
The full Dead Rising 2 game releases on September 24th for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Available today on the Xbox Live Marketplace, the demo for Sega’s Vanquish puts a futuristic spin on the fast paced, stylized combat of Bayonetta and combines it with a break dancing Master Chief. I’ll explain that last statement in a minute. It’s the distant future and Russia has commandeered a U.S orbital solar satellite and used it to turn San Francisco into a crater. It’s up to football pro turned government super-suit pilot Sam to blast, punch, and windmill his way through waves or human and non-human opponents in an effort to retake the satellite before the same can be done to New York.
Part of the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade, Uber Entertainment’s Monday Night Combat takes elements of tower defense, class based third person action, a heaping helping of bacon and combines them into one fast paced and over the top title that brings a breath of fresh air to the Xbox Live Arcade.
We’ve all come to love the little guys on Pandora, the world you explore in 2K Game’s Borderlands. They help you out, solve puzzles, and sometimes guide you to weapons crates. But here in the newest DLC, they want to kill you.
We here at Loot Ninja are fans of killing zombies. We simply can’t get enough zombie killing in our video games! We continue to want even more blood, gore, and explosions of re-animated dead corpses on our TVs! It’s just how we roll. Well you’re also in luck kiddies, because this week’s Xbox Live Arcade’s Deal of the Week is Nihilistic Software’s Zombie Apocalypse. Normally priced at 800 MS points, you can head over to the Marketplace and snatch it up for 50% off! That’s only 400 MS points for all of you zombie killers out there.
For an XBLA title, Zombie Apocalypse looks and plays solidly, with the detail of the game being right up there with some of the better shooters in the online downloadable catalog. Zombie Apocalypse also features online multi-player for 4 players, and co-op for you and 3 friends (if they aren’t infected already). If you don’t want to spring $60 dollars for Left 4 Dead 2 or get the original Left 4 Dead for cheaper, Zombie Apocalypes isn’t too shabby of a price to hop on and kill zombies with your friends. Who doesn’t like killing zombies with their best friends?

Here I am on Xbox Live sporting the recently released University Collection package in the Avatar Marketplace. Yeah yeah, before you hate on me for buying useless clothing or accessories let me just say that football is a different story. Especially college football in my mind. You don’t change your favorite college team because they are sucking. That’s who you grew up with and that’s who you stick with.
Today on the Xbox Live Marketplace, Microsoft have released the “University Collection”, a plethora of Avatar goodies for you to purchase. The new collection features a substantial list of collegiate teams from all over the US with various items of clothing adorned with the school logo or name. Don’t worry though, this stuff is officially licensed so all of the items have the school’s official name and colors. I went online to purchase a few items I wanted from my school and ran across a small bug on Microsoft’s part. The one thing I noticed? Lack of spellcheck on one item for a particular school. It just so happened to be MY favorite school. Arkansas.
As you can see, it is entitled “Arkanasas”. This is an actual screencap from the Xbox Live Marketplace. I don’t know when this issue will get fixed, but I figure for the moment it’s kind of funny.
As a little history lesson for Microsoft if they read this, the name Arkansas was derived from both French and Indian settlers of that region. At one point in history, it was actually illegal to pronounce it “Ark-an-SAS” instead of its proper pronunciation “Ark-an-SAW”.
Looks like I’m going to be sporting even more jokey material for my home state. I feel like we as a state just got over all that “having sex with your sister” crap and Bill Clinton. And now this? Sheesh! I’m gonna look like a hillbilly that can’t spell on Xbox Live! Thanks Microsoft!
While browsing the Xbox Live Marketplace today, I came upon a new item for UFC 2009 Undisputed which offers two new fighters, Ryan Bader and Efrain Escudero. What struck me as odd is the description accompanying the DLC. As you can see in the above picture, this item costs 320 Microsoft Points. However, the description states “Download these free roster additions…” Did I miss something here?
I may have slept through a couple classes in college, but last time I checked, free did not equate to $4. Requests to Microsoft and THQ were not returned by press time, but we’ll keep you posted when we hear from them regarding this confusion.
[Update] Yes, I am aware that these are the same fighters that were offered as pre-order bonuses as GameStop.
