We’ve all come to love the little guys on Pandora, the world you explore in 2K Game’s Borderlands. They help you out, solve puzzles, and sometimes guide you to weapons crates. But here in the newest DLC, they want to kill you.
Last week our What Are You Playing? picture stirred up quite the controversy. We really didn’t know if the person with dreads in the picture was a dude or a chick. If you really want to go back and look you can go check that out here.
For the rest of you guys, we’ll move on and get that sour taste out of our mouth. It’s Friday and the end of the work week for most of us “working folk”. We here at Loot Ninja want to let you guys sound off on all of the great games you are playing at the moment. It’s one of the slowest release months of late, but did you just get another new game wrapped in cellophane that you are itching to play when you get home? Are you trying to finish off the last few levels of a game in your backlog to move on to the next great adventure? We want to know what it is!
I spent the better half of the week working on this weeks awesome rainbow filled episode of Twisted Gamer Radio and trying to get my 250GB Xbox hard drive content transferred over to the new Slim. Long story short – it didn’t work. The big loss of the game saves was my 38 hours spent in Red Dead Redemption and my Level 61 Berserker in Borderlands. Everything else in my gaming collection I have either completed or really don’t mind starting over. Also, if I do plan on going back into Borderlands (I’ve already spent 81 hours according to Raptr.com) I’ll just create a new different character anyway. Oh well I suppose. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.

The previous 2 DLC packs for Borderlands hit Xbox Live and PSN with gamers still clamoring for more to do on the distant world of Pandora. You have built your individual character to your liking using Borderland’s in game “path” RPG system and gamers have grown fond of their creations. Trouble is, when the second playthrough of the game is over and the stash of unique weapons runs dry, most gamers put their killing machines up on the shelf. The greatest thing about the third Borderlands DLC is that it allows you to take your one of a kind character and kill, kill, and get more loot.

I’ve been playing the shit ton out of the new Borderlands: Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC. I just can’t get enough of it! It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a DLC. More gameplay, more awesome guns, more enemies to kill, more vehicles, just more everything! I’m almost finished with my first play-through for my review here on Loot Ninja, and one thing I came across was a glitch that happened right before you enter the armory with all of the chests and precious loot.
The way the game is supposed to work is you start a countdown sequence in the armory and you have two and a half or three minutes to grab as many guns and open as many chests as you can. This glitch allows you all the precious time you need.
I really hate level caps. Be it in Fallout 3 when you capped out at 20 (later 30), or Borderlands capping out at 50, once you put in enough time, there’s nowhere else to go. Thankfully, Borderlands is getting an increased level cap in an upcoming DLC expansion.
No word yet on what said expansion will bring or how high the level cap will be raised, but I’m hoping more than just to 60. Push that cap up to 100. That’s what I say.
I’m betting BJ is super excited by this news. I know he capped out at least one character so far. Justin is on his second play-through, so I’m sure he’ll be happy too. I’d love to get back to the game, but too many others are calling my name.

Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Bill Schwinghammer and I am addicted to Borderlands. When I found out that I was reviewing the Mad Moxxi add-on I squealed a little… in a manly way of course. The only thing I knew off the bat was that it gave you a much needed storage area – which is awesome. Then I found out that it is a long series of arena combat. Also fine. There’s nothing I enjoy more than laying some hot lead on an virtual army. And while this sounds all well and good, is it actually worth your money? Ooooo the suspense!! I’m in love with Borderlands. I started a new Hunter character recently and really love the medic qualities of the class. DLC was a no brainer for Gearbox, and it’ll be a no brainer purchase for me. Check out the trailer for The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, available now on the Xbox 360 and soon on the PS3. I’m all over this.
As you can guess from the name of this site, we enjoy Loot. And as any hardcore gamers, we enjoy a good shooter. Put the two together with strong RPG elements and you get Borderlands, one of the most addicting games you’ll play this year. Gearbox slapped together a kick-ass cell-shaded art style, awesome shooter gameplay and more weapons your can count to make a killer app.
