It’s a Holiday-shortened week here at Loot Ninja. We’ll be here the first half of the week, then it’s off to spend time with our families for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US. I’ve never been a big Call of Duty multiplayer fan. The number one reason — I suck. I die a lot in CoD online, so I’ve never really put in a ton of time. When Black Ops came out this week and a copy dropped down on my desk, I figured I’d give it a shot. Since Thursday evening, I’ve probably put in eight hours of just multiplayer time. While I was super frustrated at first, I’ve been steadily getting better and having a good time. I’m starting to see why you people love it so much. But with that out of the way, there aren’t many major game releases the rest of 2010. Assassins Creed Brotherhood drops this week, but that’s pretty much a wrap for 2010. Call of Duty has really put a hurtin’ on Holiday releases.

After a week of casual gaming news with the release of Kinect, it’s time to get back to business with Call of Duty: Black Ops dropping at midnight. Whether you’re grabbing the game on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC, you can bet your sweet ass you’re in line for a bad ass multiplayer experience. I’m more of a Halo gamer, personally, but I’ll still give Black Ops a whirl, mostly for the single player campaign. Here’s to hoping it’s longer than the 4.5 hour jaunt in Modern Warfare 2.

I’m not feeling so hot this morning, and I have a feeling Steve is in the same boat. I had a big party for Halloween and my 3oth birthday on Saturday night. Steve and his lovely girlfriend made the trip up, BJ was here, along with 25 other friends. Many drinks were had. Multiple bottles of tequila were polished off. Beer pong was played. Both Steve and I passed out before the night was even nearly over. I spent yesterday nursing a major hangover and this morning I’m still not back to 100%. I don’t typically drink a lot, so throwing back a ton of beers and shots did a number on me. But hey, at least we have Kinect this week and the Xbox 360 Dashboard Update to make us all feel better…

Well, the Giants and Rangers will be competing for the World Series this year. I’m sure the ratings for that will be fantastic. But that’s not the big story this morning. Both Steve and I got new HDTV’s this weekend. I first picked up a 40″ Sony KDL40EX500 and Steve got the 46″ of the same model. Best Buy had a good sale and we were both in need of new sets as our previous ones had died. Turns out I got a bad set and had to return it. Best Buy was out of stock of that model, so I got a Samsung LN40C630 instead. The picture is great and I’m happy overall. Now to just make some minor picture settings tweaks…

We head into this week of October where I will no longer have a “2″ as the first digit of my age. I’m feeling a bit old, but at least some kick ass games are keeping me company (even if they’re on a tiny TV until I can afford a new one). After grabbing the free Fable II download (that may or may not have been a glitch), I played a bit of that and fired up some John Daly’s Pro Stroke Golf on PS3 with Move. All in all, a pretty good weekend. How about all of you?

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m utterly exhausted. Over the past 2.5 days, I spent a total of 18 hours in a car. I don’t want to drive again for at least 3 days, but that’s not going to happen. So, while you’re all reading this, I’m probably still in bed recovering from my long weekend without any games. But at least the Yankees swept the Twins. Boom.

Summer is now officially gone and cooler weather is starting to set in — at least here in Upstate NY it’s getting cooler. Last week was one of the bigger release weeks of the coming Fall and Holiday Season. Both Halo: Reach and PlayStation Move graced our presence and we’ve been playing a shit ton of both (that’s a real number, look it up). Our reviews for both are coming very very soon, so keep your eyes pealed. I wrote this article before the Giants game was over last night, so I may or may not be in a terrific mood as I have my morning coffee.
