You think your killstreak in Call of Duty: Black Ops is good? Try and top this guy’s killstreak. It’s essentially the biggest killstreak - ever.
It’s our weekly musing into the busy lives of our very loyal Loot Ninja readers. For most of the working folk out there it’s the end of another shitty work week. For us gamers our week is just getting started (glorious weekend gaming time).
Loot Ninja wants to give you the opportunity to sound off on all of the great games you’re playing at the moment. Did you just get a new game wrapped in cellophane? Are you in the middle of something right now – (still enjoying Mortal Kombat or Portal 2?) – or are you trying to finish off a title and start on your next great adventure? Loot Ninja wants to know!
I chose today’s What Are You Playing? picture because this week we celebrated May 4th (National Star Wars Day). Loads of people were out saying “May the 4th be with you” both in person and on Facebook. It was also meaningful because we also got word that Star Wars is officially finding it’s home on Blu-ray in a 9-disc super set sometime this year. All 6 of the classic sci-fi movies that swept us away to a galaxy far far away will be in DTS 6.1 surround sound. That figure alone is sure to wet any audio/visual nerd’s pants. The two other discs in the set are jampacked full of bonus features. That’s a lot of shit to fill up 2 blu-rays. No word yet on if the movies will be the stupid Special Edition movies, or have Jar Jar Binks cut out, but you can bet your ass this will be the definitive version of the Star Wars movies.
As far as gaming goes, I played a little bit of the MotorStorm: Apocalypse campaign, constantly getting frustrated with how many fucking obstacles there are in each track to kill you until you die from it. Constantly having to respawn your car leads to a herky-jerky racing experience when all you want is a smooth race with little hiccups. That’s not the case for MotorStorm: Apocalypse.
After getting frustrated with MotorStorm, I switched it up and played more of the XBLA game OutLand. The game is flat-out great. Definitely a worthy break from the racing game. The combat and gameplay feels nice, as well as the strategy involved in what you would think is a cut and dry platformer. Definitely give OutLand a look if you have 800 Imaginary dollars (that’s Microsoft Points) and need a good game right now (before Brink and L.A. Noire swallow your real dollars).
That’s about it for me this week. What the hell have you guys been up to and been playing over the last week? Be sure to let me know what you’re gaming on in the comments…..

I’ll be rocking some Portal 2 campaign (in Chapter 6 now, hoping to get a few chapters in). But it’s going to be really nice, so I’ve got a bunch of yard work to do. The Kentucky Derby is Saturday too, so I’ll be out getting drunk all afternoon.
No gaming, just Lost on Netflix. I’m so close to being finished. Fallout 3 is collecting dust, waiting patiently in the corner for it’s time to come.
