Nintendo is replying – here they are, now shut up!
This is a huge list of games that will put the library of Wii titles close to 150 (not counting Virtual Console games) and the DS titles close to 450.

I thnk Nintendo really wants to show everyone that not only Nintendo developed games are scheduled ot hit the console but also a lot of third party games as well, many have speculated that third party developers would shy away from the unique controls.

Here is the all encompassing list of games scheduled to come out for the Wii and the DS until the first quarter of next year.

Nintendo really needs to step up it’s online gaming platform. Maybe they really just don’t want it, who knows. Anyway, Rockstar’s Table Tennis is the latest victim for the Wii to lose it’s online mode.

According to CVG, Rockstar confirmed to them that the Wii version of the ping pong hit won’t have online play.

The online multiplayer mode featured in the 360 has been dropped on Wii because, as Rockstar explains: “All the focus is going into making it the most advanced control system on the Wii.”

I think that’s a bullshit answer. The real answer is probably closer to “Nintendo isn’t providing enough support to implement an online system.”

Looks like Jack Thompson has gotten bored once again and is taking aim at Rockstar and Take Two for allegedley including him into their video game. I am pretty sure that parody can not be censored in any way shape or form, but leave it to good old Jack to try and put the kabosh on things.

I think it is a bit vain of him to think that just becasue the lawyer mentions a video game that it automatically is him. Either way Jack has taken aim on GTA IV and wants answers!

I have this morning read with interest an article on page 80 and 81 of the September 2007 issue of Game Informer magazine which was generated when, according to its author, Rockstar Games “stopped by the Game Informer offices for an impromptu hour-long gameplay session with the Xbox 360 version of the game.”

Today Rockstar announced it’s Launch date of Manhunt 2 for this Halloween, October 31, after a change in the rating of the game to M from AO. After their initial rating of Adults Only, there was much speculation about the plug being pulled. It’s nice to see that the game was brought back and givven an M rating, now let’s hope that it is more entertaining than the first one.

New York, NY – August 24, 2007 – Rockstar Games today announced it will release Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, and the Wii™ home video game system from Nintendo in North America on October 31, 2007. This announcement follows the submission of a modified version of Manhunt 2 to the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), who has now rated the title “M” for Mature for ages 17 and older.

LA Noire, the upcoming Rockstar franchise that’s set to to take the world by storm, is now coming exclusively to the PS3. This comes in a press release filed by parent company Take Two yesterday (the same press release that let out the GTA4 delay).

Take Two describes the games as:

“[a] ground-breaking next generation crime thriller. L.A Noire is an interactive detective story set during the classic late 1940’s noir period in a perfectly recreated Los Angeles before freeways, with a post-war backdrop of corruption, drugs and jazz. L.A. Noire will truly blend cinema and gaming with action, detection and complex storytelling that will draw players into an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders.”

Sounds like a winner to me. Something to note, this is NOT the new exclusive franchise that Jack Tretton talked about for the PS3. Sony has confirmed a few times this is the fact. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what that new franchise will be.

Take Two has just announced that GTA4 won’t be hitting it’s scheduled October release. The game is now delayed until the second quarter of 2008. The delay is due to extra development time needed for the title.

Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2007 guidance primarily to reflect the movement of the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360^™ video game and entertainment system from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 to fiscal 2008, due to additional development time required to complete the title. The title is now planned for release in the Company’s second quarter of fiscal 2008.

Bad news for gamers wanting next-gen GTA this year.

At E3, Game Head got a chance to talk to Jack Tretton about losing GTA4 as a PlayStation exclusive. In the interview, Jack revealed that Rockstar would be developing a new, exclusive franchise for the PS3 after Grand Theft Auto 4. Some are speculating this will be LA Noire, but Jack somewhat shot that down.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what comes of this new exclusive franchise. I hope it’s not more ping pong.

Rockstar games today announced that another title from their PS2 dominating lineup will come to the Xbox 360 and Wii, Bully: Scholarship edition. This version will be just as funny and have all the same gameplay aspects and will be available for both next gen consoles by this winter. No PS3 love?

Loot Ninja was informed today that Rockstar Table Tennis, the minimalistic smash hit(no pun intended) from the Xbox360 will be coming to the Wii this Fall. The game that was so hard to put down will now be that much harder to resist using the Wiimote as paddle. I have this game for the 360 and loved it. I suck at real ping pong. but this could be really fun.
