It’s been a long time now since I’ve played anything on the Wii. The last thing I played was The Conduit for review back in the summer. There just really aren’t any games I want to play for the system. Sure, New Super Mario Bros. Wii just came out, but I don’t have three people here on a regular basis who will want to play, making it yet another party game that would go unused in my house. The system is collecting a ton of dust, but one game just got sent to us that will change everything: We Cheer.
Don’t get the wrong idea. I will not be playing this game. Namco Bandai sent it over for review and after a couple quick emails among the Loot Ninja staff, no one wanted to jump on this title. My wife, who was on the dance team in high school, actually asked me about buying this one, so she’s going to play this and guest review the game. The system will finally get some usage, albeit still not by me.
With an deluge of amazing games for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Holiday season, are you even looking at your Wii for your gaming time? Maybe during Christmas I’ll bust out Wii Sports Resort or Punch Out with family and friends, but I don’t see myself turning the system on for my personal gaming for a long time. How about all of you out there?

I actually beat Dead Space: Extraction before I wanted to play MW2 on the 360. It was an amazing game.
Mine has been pretty dusty as well. However, when I get the time I have both the New Super Mario Bros. game to play as well as I picked up Mad World for 20 bucks new. So I will be trying that, heard a lot of things about it so I will give it a go.
Mad World is definitely worth playing. I got bored of it after one play through (which doesn't take all that long). It's fun though.
My wife and I were watching TV last night and a commercial for New Super Mario Bros. Wii came on, which prompted her to ask if we had it. Here's the conversation:
Vanessa: "Oooh a new Mario. Do we have that?"
Matt: "Nope"
Vanessa: "Can we get it?"
Matt: "I don't really feel like buying it since it won't get played"
Vanessa: "But it's Mario! I'll play it"
Matt: "You'll play it once and then it'll sit on the shelf like the other Wii games"
Vanessa: "It'll be fun though…"
Needless to say, I'm not buying it. Maybe a rental, but that's about it. I'm sure it's fun, but Wii games tend to get used once around here unless I have to review them.
'My Wii is Very Dusty'
If your wee is looking dusty, perhaps you should consult a doctor.
"My [Insert WII/Xbox/PS3] is looking very dusty, it never gets played" articles are pretty tedious things. The Wii, of course, sells at twice the rate of both the Xbox and PS3 combined.
You are like a tiny infanticimal whiny fart in the middle of a fanfare celebration.
Sounds like your wife has more sense than you. Way to cramp on other people's enjoyment.
You are married and your Wii is dusty? Try flowers bro.
/juvenile humor
i havent bought one, but my Cube crapped out on me and Monster Hunter 3 (for some reason known only to the god of madness worshiped by the heads of capcom) will only be out on the wii.
at $200, with solid first party titles (albeit aged) available, i might pick a wii up. itll get far more use a a Cube replacement than as a wii, however.
My Wii has been in storage for 4 months now.
I don’t really miss it.
Never bought a wii. Not Fun. Not Fun = it wont get used.
+1, loots….
what about the new zelda game just announced? with the pledge come out for the arrival of the new zelda adventure (i mean assuming you have 50 hours to spare)
Sadly thats the first wii game i'm excited about in a looong time. Hope the dust damage doesn't effect it
I think this year should actually be pretty decent for the Wii. A new Super Mario Galaxy, new Zelda, new Metroid along with some decent third party stuff like Red Steel 2 from Ubisoft should give a nice kick in the ass to the Wii community.
Nintendo has a habit of pushing a lot of great product all at once and then going dormant for a while, which is sort-of what we saw the last 1.5 years.
