Mario Bros Free Running Academy

Mario in his time was probably what you would call a “free runner”. A simple plumber who was tasked with getting from point A to point B in the quickest amount of time, as well as throwing in a few pieces of flare (or arm punches to the sky) to make it happen. Sure, you could take your time going through the levels of Super Mario Bros. collecting stars and mushrooms, but deep down most of us wanted to speedily piece together a faster, smoother run than our friends including timing jumps and flowing through enemies to the next castle flagpole.

Well if you want the chance to do it in real life you need to head over to the Tempest Freerunning Academy in Los Angeles, California. There they specialize in getting your body to make those epic “A, B” button combos to get from the top of one pipe to the next. I guess what I’m trying to say is their new gym (which opened up on April 2, 2011) is Super Mario themed. Good times.
