Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Universal Dr. Pepper Codes Walkthrough

Have people been killing you with special gold weapons lately in BF: BC2? Has someone been sniping your ass with the M95 SA and you are wondering how the hell they got it? We can help.

Before you deep dive into the codes, here is a little background which may help answer some questions you are sure to have. First, if you live in the UK, you can purchase each weapon for 140 pts, or all four for 440 pts. Each major class has the last obtained weapon outfitted in special camo and appears gold in your kit selection. There are achievements with these, but currently only for those who bought the DLC. If you use the Dr. Pepper promotion codes, you will get each weapon and new badges and medals. The achievement is unlocked after you get each of the following with the SPECACT (SA) weapons: 5 kills in a row, 8 kills in a round, and 100 overall kills. These are independent of each other and will be recorded in your medals screen. EA says they will reward the achievements retroactive once they fix the bug. So just hold tight on that. Now for the good stuff.

Dr Pepper Download Codes are a Pain

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about a new DLC promotion with EA games and Dr. Pepper. The concept seemed simple enough, drink Dr. Pepper, save the cap, redeem your code and download content to your EA game. This worked really well with Spore. I was even surprised that one code got me a whole pack of mech parts for Spore. They downloaded and installed just fine and I made a creature with them.

However, getting the download codes to work for Sims3 is a royal pain in the ass. I have wasted four codes trying to get Sims3 downloads. The instructions are not very clear and there is no information to help with problems. Getting content should not be this hard. Hit the jump to see what happens when I try.

App Store Developers Allowed to Issue Promotional Copies

Apple is finally allowing developers to issue promotional copies of their applications. The application must be accepted into the store first, then the developer will be allowed to give out up to 50 codes to redeem at the App Store. At the moment, the codes can only be redeemed at the U.S. App Store through the “Redeem” quick link on the right hand side of the store.

In the past, developers were forced to hand out Ad-hoc versions of their applications which was also limited to a set number. Many developers have now resorted to handing out gift cards for review copies. Developers will be allowed to issue 50 more codes for each new version of the application.

Apple took their sweet time but they have finally listened to developers.
