Yes, take in the title for a second, you read it correctly. There was some buzz a while back about a mystery service that would be offered from Blizzard in it’s mega hit World of Warcraft and now we know what it is, a sex change. For $15 you can change the sex of and look of your character in the world of Azeroth, my thoughts are that this is retarded. I would have thought that changing your race would be a much more interesting thing for players as there are some racial benefits that are better for certain classes, changing your sex is just odd, I have never played a female character in any game and I do not understand a need to change my characters gender? I file this one in the WTF files, what do you think?
Ready for a new look in World of Warcraft, but the barbershop’s just not cutting it? You can now change a character’s gender, face, skin color, and other cosmetic features (such as tauren horn styles or a night elf’s facial markings) using the brand-new Character Re-Customization service. Available at the Account Management page for a flat fee of $15, Character Re-Customization covers all available cosmetic options for a single character and includes an optional name change to go with your new look. For more information, see the FAQ — or log in to the Character Re-Customization page now to begin the process of reinventing the new you!
I honestly would have never thought that the game industry could be so… yucky! Barrington Harvey, part of Eidos UK’s PR firm, has sent out a message asking all outlets to withhold any reviews of Tom Raider: Underworld with scores below 8/10 until Monday, as per Guy Cocker (what a name) – a Gamespot UK writer. I’m curious to find out what would happen if the game received scores below 8/10 all across the board from any credible reviewers.
When Eidos UK was confronted by videogaming247, a Harvey representative stated that the company is, at the request of Eidos, “trying to get the Metacritic rating to be high” and that the US brand manager for the game wants the company to “manage the scores before the game is out.” If this isn’t the most pathetic shit I’ve heard…
It seems like Eidos has a little poopy coming down their pants with their experience(s) with last year’s Kane & Lynch which didn’t do as well as they expected. With Eidos having any doubts about the next installment of Tomb Raider, it kind of makes me question the game’s play value. As a developer, I would assume that you would go out with as much optimism as possible when you release your game to the public. Not everyone can be Epic or Sony Santa Monica Studios, for crying out loud. I’m thinking about picking this one up simply because I just think that Lara Croft is ridiculously hot. Erherm..
But, let’s see what happens when the reviews start pouring in. Greatness is only in the eye of the beholder. You can’t always rely on everyone else’s opinion of what is “great.” You’re always going to have those that damn a game to the fiery pits of hell and others that praise it like some sort of deity. It happens, Eidos.
All I can say is wow! His parents are letting him leave school in order to pursue an idiotic dream of being a pr-Guitar Hero player?! This definitely goes in the WTF file. He is being forced to be home schooled, but I mean come on, how can you allow your child to abandon getting a real education for playing GH for money?
Blake Peebles, 16, of Raleigh, dropped out of school last year to devote himself to playing ‘Guitar Hero,’ and his parents agreed to have him home-schooled. ‘I usually play till I can’t anymore,’ Blake says.
Blake has done well in local tournaments, including one held at a Chick-fil-A that earned him 52 combo meals. By his account, he has lost only once since “Guitar Hero III” was released late last year. Some of that time was spent playing online, against players from all over the world.
This is how he knows he’s good. It wasn’t that long ago that kids who excelled at some activity, say basketball, would only have to go to the next neighborhood to have their dreams crushed by some older, more accomplished player.
Today, on Xbox 360, players use the system’s online component to compare scores with players all over the world. Blake, who goes by the online name “Dreminem,” figures that he has top-10 scores on 20 or so of songs on “Guitar Hero III.”
I guess if you want to be a pro-gamer you got to practice a lot, but even though I am an avid gamer and would love to have pro-gamer children, there is no way in hell I would let them leave school. What if this kid gets a GH related injury that ends his career? then it is trips to the local avenue to service people with ZJ’s for a dollar. This just sounds like a bad South Park skit, too bad its real.
Yes it can be a bad thing to be a Loot Ninja, that is what makes our Ninja mascot so love-able.
Here is a bit of an older video that i find hilarious, not that someone stole the loot from the group (we don’t condone that kind of stuff here at LN), but the reactions are pretty priceless.
Awesome post dialogue goes a little something like this: “O my god! WTF! Gasp! I am going to kill myself right now! You piece of shiet!” followed by the one guy who says “Well shiet happens!” LOL
I have scored a double headshot with a sniper rifle and was pretty proud of myself but a triple headshot is pretty damn sweet. This kid got three headshots 6 seconds into the game and actually hit the 4th teammate but didn’t kill him with the shot. Pretty incredible shot! I can only imagine being on the other team and just yelling WTF just happened!
Pretty interesting betrayal from both player’s perspective. One guy is walking along and then a warthog falls on his head and the other guy is running away and gets a message saying he betrayed someone. WTF?! Great video and a very random way to get betrayed, watch the video to see what I mean. Guess you always have to watch out for random falling objects, even in Halo.
Firs thing you are thinking is WTF is a Super Genintari? Well quite simply it is a Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, Genesis and Super NES all squeezed into one game console. This bad boy will give you the best of 4 worlds of retro gaming. It is a bit on the big side but some of the size is due to the cartridge set up and the internal power brick. Pretty interesting design and very versatile.
Yes, Xbox Live is down AGAIN. Seriously. What. the. fuck. I can’t login, meaning yet again, no Live Arcade games for me. According to the Xbox Support page right now (10:30pm EST):
Xbox Live Marketplace users may experience intermittent issues with billing related transactions (such as the purchasing of premium content), presence functionality (such as logging into Xbox Live), posting statistics, storage downloads, matchmaking, and messaging.
We are aware of the issue and actively working toward a resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience.
You know, I can understand that Microsoft took on a lot of users. I can understand a server or two going down for a day or two or three. But seriously people, what the hell. This is into three weeks of piss poor service. Three weeks. Everyone is getting really sick of this. I had such a huge desire to co-op Halo 3, which started before Christmas. And guess what? I haven’t been able to… since before Christmas. Back to Wii and PS3, since their services (which don’t go down) don’t prevent me from playing my single player games.
