Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been pulling out all the stops to raise their subscriber base with the latest news of some benefits for people to come back to the game if they quit. If you decide to come back, you will get 10 free days of play and also receive all of your rested experience that you accumulated over the period you were gone, which is pretty nice.
They now have incentives for everybody to play WAR:
New customers that wanted to play WAR were given a free 10 day trial.
Refering a friend to play WAR gives you rewards based on how many people you recruit.
Now if you had quit playing WAR and decide to come back you can get some rewards as well.
Seems like the marketing department is hard at work over at Mythic Entertainment. With the recent news of server shutdowns, they need to step up big to keep WAR going.
A lot of gamers use their PSP for road trips, but the makers of the new Citroen C-Crosser SUV are taking it to a whole different level by introducing a car with a PSP pre-loaded.
The French carmaker teamed up with Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and launched the special edition Citroen C-Crosser Exclusive PSP. The Citroen C-Crosser Exclusive PSP comes with a PlayStationPortable Slim & Lite which comes with two games, a Memory Stick PRO Duo and a 4GB memory card.
The Citroen C-Crosser Exclusive PSP is based on the 160 HDi FAP version and its equipment list includes Xenon headlamps, automatic air conditioning, ESP, the handsfree Bluetooth and a NaviDrive navigation system. The car also comes with a music server that can store up to 2,500 songs.
The Citroen C-Crosser Exclusive PSP price starts at 33,990 Euros.
Who the fuck is going to go out and buy a car because it has a PSP pre-loaded? Then again, it does have a snazzy PSP logo on the trunk and a special head rest to store your PlayStation Portable. What if you have more than one kid? I guess they have to fight to the death.

You can choose from Bullseye (where you throw tires around enemies and then hurl stop signs at the ones you tied up), Headball (where you play volleyball with chopped off heads), Human Hammer (where you toss a carcass into a pit of spikes) and Full Training Mode where you play all three mini-games.
Which is your favorite? Mine by far is Bullseye; try to get a headshot with the stop sign and watch as you take your target’s head clear off and release a geyser of blood. Can you beat my crappy score? Go brag in the comments, but in my defense, I only tried once.
For the last few weeks, there have been rumors of an Army of Two sequel floating around the web and today EA Montreal confirmed that Rios and Salem are back; this time they are in Shanghai, China. Army of Two: The 40th Day is boasting more co-op moves and even deeper strategy, which is good since the first iteration skimped out on strategy after you figured out that you could pretty much finish boards with guns blazing. Hopefully they play more on the fact that you can pull aggro from enemies because to me, that was probably the coolest feature of the game, but it really was under utilized.
Of even more surprise to me is the fact that this will hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and even the PSP. Not sure how this will play out on the PSP but it seems promising. We’ll keep you posted as we get more info on The 40th Day.
If you have been playing Warhammer Online and have some friends on the fence about playing, now is your chance to recruit them and reap the benefits. WAR has officially launched a refer a friend program and the more friends you recruit, the more free days of play you get, along with in game items. One of the in game items is a pet, but even better is the item that grants you 5% more experience and renown for all your group members. Go start converting your friends and gaining free stuff.
This plus the free 10 day trial marks the fact that WAR is really putting on a full court press to get players interested in the game.
The answer is it gets fucked up! Someone had a bright idea and it involved a Sony PlayStation 3 and a microwave. This guy managed to squeeze a 60GB PS3 into a microwave and then put it on high and then follow that with a controller. Watch as it sparks and melts as expected, but I like how this guy’s idea of safety involves wearing thin plastic gloves and poking the hot melting PS3 with his fingers.
For a while people have been speculating who would be the fighter to grace the cover of Fight Night Round 4 and today EA announced that it would be Ali and Tyson together.
Many have wondered who would win if Ali were to have fought Tyson, but this summer we will all be able to see what it would have been like. My money is on Ali and his rope a dope.
Gamestop is also offering a demo if you pre-order the game through them, which I think is utter bullshit. Demos should be free and not require me to pre-order shit!
Reality shows are still fucking popular, but at least video gamers are getting their own. I happened to be thumbing through the channels and stopped to watch Saw II on SciFi when I saw a new series scheduled to air this upcoming Tuesday called WCG Ultimate Gamer. My interest was quickly sparked so I added it to my DVR and then did some research. Looks like the show is a reality show where 12 contests live in a loft together Real World style and compete for a $100,000 grand prize. The contestants will face physical challenges based off of video games and then compete head to head, which seems pretty interesting in theory.
We will keep you posted as this series plays out. Right now it is slated for eight episodes and a spot in my DVR rotation.
I continue to get more and more excited for UFC 2009 Undisputed and every time there is a new Pay Per View event, as we can expect to see the main event match up played out virtually. I am growing to look forward to these much like people simulate the Super Bowl on Madden, except here there is a lot more ass kicking action. Watch as Quentin “Rampage” Jackson takes one Keith Jardine. At one point in the clip, Rampage actually power bombs Jardine in the Octagon. The game looks very technical with reversals and different martial arts styles playing an very active role.
Not only do we see the preview of UFC 96, but we also see some strategic commentary from Joe Rogan, pretty sweet.
Last year was an interesting one for MMORPGs. A few contenders stepped up to the plate as possible WoW killers, namely Age of Conan and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Age of Conan has thus far proved to not be ready for prime time. WAR on the other hand has shown it can stand up to scrutiny.
WAR’s servers are constantly being updated with new content. Just this week, two new characters were added, the Orc Choppa and the Dwarf Slayer, two new melee classes. This is important to note, because games that receive this kind of attention from the developers are here for the long run.
