Although Halo 2 has lost Xbox Live support, a small group of people are trying to make it last as long as possible.
Throughout the past week, a small group of dedicated Halo 2 players kept their xboxes on so that they could enjoy the game for a while long. (As long as we don’t turn off our xboxes, or lose connection, we can stay online. Our xboxes have been on for nearly 19 days straight!) Each day the amount of people decreased, at a rapid rate.
Down to just five people, who knows how much longer they can keep this up. According to them, Bungie will be sending Halo: Reach Beta keys to reward their dedication. The last live stream has finally cut out so unfortunately there is no way to follow them other than the Bungie Forums.

these guys are fucking heroes. i wish i still had my old xbox. i woulb be right there with them. all i got now is halo 2 for the 360. Bungie should transfer the halo 2 xbox live data to the xbox 360 along with halo 1.
Hell no they shouldn’t. Now that Halo 2 has finally died and brought the old Xbox Live infrastructure with it hopefully 360 Live can finally be updated to, among other things, allow more than 100 friends.
