The early reviews on the Wolverine game are that it is very fun and insanely violent. The game is apparently littered with Easter Eggs, some of which can be seen in this trailer. There is also a WoW reference. Pretty funny. Check out the alternate costumes as well. We will have a review for you as soon as the game shows up at HQ. Until then, check it out.
Any fan of the X-Men universe knows Wolverine and Sabertooth hate each other but share some past. There has to be some event and/or reason why these two animalistic killing machines do not get along. Did Sabretooth like fuck Wolverine’s sister or something? Apparently, not. Watch and learn.
Apparently Gambit is going to be a villain in the upcoming movie. I would have rather seen Gambit kicking ass rather than have his ass getting kicked, but some Gambit is better than no Gambit. Kinetically charged playing cards FTW. So far, this looks pretty sweet.
I often do not put up movie trailers unless they are really worth it. This is the X-Men movie that I have waited for. The first 3 were okay, not great. I thought X-Men 3 was going to be something like this, but it was not. This is just like the awesome animation series from the mid 90’s. A ton of mutants hell bent on beating the crap out of each other using their powers. Check out the latest trailer. Word is they are planning an X-Men Origins: Magneto. We’ll keep you in the loop. Until then, here you go. Gambit FTMFW.
The X-Men have always been one of my favorite comic books and Wolverine has been my favorite of that series. When Marvel announced a new Wolverine movie, I got excited. When Activision announced a game based on that movie, I got scared. When I got my hands on the game at a recent preview event, those fears went away.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a third person action game that will contain roughly 95% of the upcoming film. The game looks decent, but not that great. Some textures are off, but those could easily change before release. Animations were very fluid both running around and in combat, which is more important.
We have all waited for a Wolverine game where he actually uses his claws. I am not talking cartoon violence like in Ultimate Alliance or like in X-Men for the Genesis where using the claws was a special ability and not standard. In this game however, Wolvie is going to eviscerate people. I am talking limbs flying off. Here is an excerpt from the movie but in-game. Looks very, very promising.
