Reality shows are still fucking popular, but at least video gamers are getting their own. I happened to be thumbing through the channels and stopped to watch Saw II on SciFi when I saw a new series scheduled to air this upcoming Tuesday called WCG Ultimate Gamer. My interest was quickly sparked so I added it to my DVR and then did some research. Looks like the show is a reality show where 12 contests live in a loft together Real World style and compete for a $100,000 grand prize. The contestants will face physical challenges based off of video games and then compete head to head, which seems pretty interesting in theory.
We will keep you posted as this series plays out. Right now it is slated for eight episodes and a spot in my DVR rotation.

WCG Ultimate Gamer is an exciting 8-episode elimination-style reality series featuring a diverse group of top gamers who embark on an intense and emotional journey, all hoping to win a prize package that includes $100,000 and the ultimate Samsung electronics package. Additionally, the winner will become the face of the WCG and represent the world’s largest video gaming organization in events around the globe, including the 2009 Grand Final in China.
As the 12 contestants share a loft in downtown Los Angeles, they will be tested in real-life challenges inspired by best-selling game titles, compete in the video games themselves, and ultimately must avoid elimination in head-to-head battles in an arena filled with hundreds of spectators. Ultimately, the player who is versatile and strategic enough to best their opponents in both the real-life and virtual gaming worlds will emerge as the WCG Ultimate Gamer.

I was about to say something about this in the fourms. All this will be is stupied jackasses who do embarrassing stuff, and the stuff is about video games.
Yeah I will keep you posted on what this turns out being, I have pretty low expectations and think it will be bumped off my DVR quickly.
I know everyone wants to dismiss this thing before they’ve even seen it, but speaking as someone who has seen it already, it’s a lot better than you might think. Definitely worth tuning in for.
I did watch the first season of who wants to be a superhero, which sci-fi also air on their channel, and i did kindof like it. But i was never a big fan of comics and superheros either. So i tune in this show if i remember.
