I have to admit that I did not have much faith in Halo Wars or any RTS on a console for that matter, just seems like consoles and RTS games do not mix. After watching some more clips of Halo Wars for the Xbox 360 I think the folks over at Bungie are doing things right and the UI and control look very suited for an RTS on the console. One main problem when you try to play RTS games on a console is that you lose the control that you normally would have with a keyboard and mouse because grouping characters and executing strategies becomes tough. In the LOTOR RTS game the battles just became who had more units and no real strategy was involved, Halo Wars looks to solve a few of these issues with the paintbrush style selection of characters.
One thing I do notice more and more as I watch the clips for Halo Wars is that this is directly inspired if not even a rip off of Starcraft. If this is done well this could steal some serious thunder from Starcraft II especially if it does very well on the 360 since it wont require gamers to upgrade their computers to play. I dont think it will offer the depth of Starcraft II since there are only two races and one type of resource, but we will have to keep an eye on this one and see how it continues to shape up.

just wanted to mention that im pretty sure this isn’t a Bungie game. It is done by Ensemble studios, as mentioned in the film clip. I dont know if there is a connection between the two.
after watching the starcraft finals in person and seeing how the koreans rocked something like 300 actions per minute with individual unit hot keys, no matter how sweet the controls for a console look, no one will have the control you need to be an RTS god with just a controller.
Is this going to be 360 only, or will it also make an appearance on PC?
First off, I would like to clarfify. This is not a Bungie made game. Bungie loaned out the rights to Ensemble to create Halo Wars. Secondly it is Console only for the time being. Their are plans however to make it cross platform x360-pc. Not in the near future however. After playing Halo Wars It has some excellent ideas and gameplay. Adaptive AI is very quick at becoming easer or harder per your playing style. The game itself has a decent amount of limitations. Unlike Starcraft you are not able to make a base anywhere you would like, there are specific locations you must build. I would have loved to have seen more playable characters and more npcs. 2 ground units, 3 vehicles, and 2 air is kinda weak. All in all 8/10.

it was decided bungie would make ODST and ensmble would make halo wars both companies were linked through microsoft, when bungie decided to seperate from microsoft for more money they allowed ensemble to finish halo wars for a cut in the money
how do you call a rhino ?
after beating Halo Wars just 3 hours ago I have to say Ensemble studios has made a masterpiece. The only slight problems are the units not being able to navigate around each other but other than that kudos and encore to Ensemble, hopefully they decide to make another Halo RTS game.
whut ist he sequince that u have to open the doors whith on lvl 15?
I just got the game and have gotten really far really fast. Improvements could have been made with having more characters and being able to build bigger and better bases. Also i would love to see another halo game like the first 3. overall though great game
