Guitar Hero 2 really set the bar for interactive music games. Electronic Arts is teaming up with MTV and Harmonix in an attempt to cash in on this phenomenon with the game Rock Band. This game will integrate ALL the facets of a rock band including guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Fender, the legendary guitar and bass manufacturer has signed on to have not only their products exclusively in the game, but the immortal Fender Stratocaster that Wayne Campbell finally made his own.(No Stairway) There is no word on a drum company that has signed on as of yet, but expect someone to quickly jump on. Here is the best part: the guitar controller will be modeled exactly like the legendary Stratocaster. Expect an immediate update as soon as we have it. The game is slated to be released for both the PS3 and Xbox360 later this year.
