Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the bing-bong-beng-bong-boong. All you Star Trek fans already know the William Shatner iterated opening dialogue, so there’s no need to finish it. Plus, it will only make me look dorkier than what I already am. These are some of the things that you can now listen to in the upcoming Blu-ray release of the original six Star Trek films on May 17th - just in time for the upcoming theatrical release of the new Star Trek flick starring Syler from Heroes, and that Asian dude from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. (Yep. And it looks breathtakingly good).

The Blu-ray collection includes the original motion picture, The Search for Spock, The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, The Undiscovered Country and The Final Frontier. Oh, and the best part of it all is that each of the films will be presented in 1080p with Dobly TrueHD 7.1 soundtracks - an orgy of visuals and sound for your eyes and ears, my friends. Each of the films will come with tons of commentary tracks and a bonus BD-Live “Star Trek IQ” feature for you avid Star Trek fans that have nothing better to do other than speak Klingon and touch yourselves to the thought of Spock, or for you trivia fans that enjoy a good Star Trek challenge. Woot!

Aside from the high-definition films and the Star Trek trivia, the seventh disc of the collection includes “The Captains’ Summit” - a seventy-minute discussion hosted by the eyebrow-less Whoopi Goldberg, where stars from the show talk about their lives on the set of Star Trek. If you’re a Star Trek fan and haven’t purchased a Blu-ray player yet, now is the time to do so. (Star Trek) + (1080p (Dolby TrueHD 7.1)) = OMG WTF DID I JUST WITNESS!
