On my recent trip to the West Coast I came across a shop that had everything you can imagine imported from across the ocean, Japan. A few great things they had were video game themed candies and toys, like Gameboy shaped candy tins, a Nintendo energy drink with Mario on it and even an energy drink called a Flaming Moe. (yes from the Simpsons)
Here are some shots of the candies I bought to try out, please note that all candy tasted less than great, so really I payed for the tins, hehehe.
A classic NES controller tin filled with mints, the mints smelled like Altoids, but sure didn’t taste like them, the tin will at least serve a purpose later to hold paperclips.
Hit the jump for more candy goodness.
Here is a bit more of Nintendo inspired mints this time in the shape of a 1up mushroom
The cool thing about this one is that you pop the Mushroom cap off to get to the candy, but the candies are also in the shape of green mushrooms. Too bad the candy kinda sux.
And of course no candy run would be complete without a gummy portion. So I picked up some 3D gummy candies in the shape of Mario, DK, Diddy Kong and Yoshi. The box even comes with a Game Tip, so here is the tip: “Talk to your puppy as often as you can so that it learns your voice.” I for one love to talk to a set of puppies as often as I can, hehehe.
All candy although looking cute, really didn’t taste that great, but hey what are you gonna do when you have a hankering for a gummy Yoshi.

Yea and I have seen that simpsons energy drink before.
LOL, my brother has the Duff energy drink on his desk. He refuses to open it (he’s a huge Simpson’s fan).
