So if you haven’t played this 360 XBLA title yet you probably should. (I use Wik as my gamer icon, in case you didn’t know what he looked like) Wik boils down to a platformer thrown into a puzzle game. It has good controls and you can do some pretty interesting things with Wik once you get the buttons down.

Wik can swing from trees by latching on with his tongue (think Toad from X-men), jump, suck up grubs and spit them out. Sounds pretty disgusting, but it actually works in the context of the game. The goal of every level is to save these small green grubs, which FYI make funny noises when you spit them around. You save them by tossing them into a large purple guy who walks across the screen, if he gets across the screen and you haven’t saved the minimum required grubs you have to redo the level. You can suck up rocks and bugs and use them as projectiles (think Kirby) and play different modes, like Story Mode and Challenge Mode. Story mode is 120 linear levels where you have to save grubs, while challenge mode is a timed event where you have to do certain things to finish the level.

There are also mini games, loopnastics and fire pit, in loopnastics you get points for doing swinging 360’s, it is a bit hard but once you ge thte hang of it, it’s fun! The other mini game is a race to stay alive, you have to keep Wik out of the lava on the bottom of the screen by jump from falling rocks and trying to stay at the top of the screen.

All and all in Wik is a fun game with lots to do. I think it is a definite sleeper buy off XBLA, at least get the demo and try it out.
