Burnout Paradise Vid

taz8080 | 2 Comments

The burnout series has always been one of my favorites and Burnout Takedown was a great time on my original Xbox, but when it got ported to the Xbox 360 it was about the same, so I am very eager to see more about Burnout Paradise. The crashes look incredible and I hope the sense of speed is still there.

EA Games LogoIn case you’re still living under a rock, in a bubble, or somewhere stuck in the past, EA Games will be shutting down their servers for their 2006 titles, not just those of the sport variety. That means it’s time for you to pony up the cash for one of their yearly updates or suffer without the non-sports titles online.

The September 1st shutdown will effect the following titles:

Arena Football, FIFA Soccer 06, FIFA World Cup 2006, Fight Night Round 3, Madden NFL 06, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, MVP 07 NCAA Baseball, NASCAR 06 Total Team Control, NBA Live 06, NCAA Football 2005, NCAA Football 2006, NCAA March Madness 2006, NFL Head Coach, NHL 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06

An additional shutdown on November 1st will cause the following titles to stop working online:

Burnout Revenge, Need for Speed Underground, Need for Speed Underground 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted.

The shutdown effects titles on the PC, PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360. So sell those titles off now before they’re only worth a few pennies.

Evolution of Heavenly Sword

drunk pandas | 0 Comments

Did you know Heavenly Sword was once destined for the original Xbox as an exclusive? My have the times have changed. From the early stages in 2003 until now, the game has come a very long way.

Check out the video to see where it all began and thank the good Lord it ended up how it looks today. The gameplay of the early trailers doesn’t look too terribly fun.

The rumor millSo how wild would it be to see a new wave of consoles to hit the streets in 2008. Everyone has their current favorite when it comes to a handheld and their next generation console right? What if there were some new additions next year to make your decision making even more difficult. Stranger things have happened and there are two possibilities that I can see happening.

sega.jpg1) SEGA mans up and decides to strap on a set and go back to making consoles. I was a huge fan of the Dreamcast system and thought it had some memorable titles and some interesting peripherals like the VMU’s, controllers and keyboard to name a few. SEGA could use all it’s market research and all the differeent opinions everyone has expressed with the existing three next generation consoles and make the perfect console. One that would not die (360), one that was not a gimmick (Wii) and one that was not overpriced (PS3). SEGA could come out into the battle field and mop up the mess that is the current next gen console war, come on SEGA go get the daddy pants and make us a SEGA Saturn Xtreme.

xbox-360.jpg2) Microsoft decides to hit another gaming market and fully develop and launch their handheld gaming system. This could change the face of gaming if MS decided to delve in and give Nintendo a run for it’s money in the handheld market. Just imagine a handheld with the processing power of a 360, with wifi, chat & messaging, a small HD, and LIVE. I drool just thinking of this handheld monster. This could really take a chunk of the DS marketshare, just look at the PSP and it’s current success.

What do you think…?

Blastacular Map Pack Fixed

fierce Scuba | 1 Comment

halo-2.jpgBungie released a statement to say that all the incompatibility between the xbox and xbox360 has been fixed. Another possible scenario is people on a silver account trying to download as if they were on a gold account. Either way, the map pack is up and ready to be downloaded problem free. Unfortunately, the map pack is not free, you still gotta pay.

The rumor millOn the heels of the new Elite 360 comes rumors of the next iteration of MS consoles already. Many are skeptical if the Elite will catch on and wonder when MS will drop their real “Elite” system.

Some speculate that this machine will have functionality to link up your Windows Mobile phone, MS Zune, your laptop and even your existing 360 to a master console at the heart of the network, allowing them to share all their files. Perhaps this magical machine will be the much rumored 720.

The current 360 Elite can’t handle 5.1 – 7.1 channel uncompressed Linear PCM audio, reallistically it can only handle 2 channel. This is REQUIREMENT for all hd-dvd movies, unless you don’t value quality. You need hdmi for linear pcm audio, and not including it in the Elite is a mistake by MS. I believe it’s a hardware issue and the 360 doesn’t have enough audio pipes to handle it, while the ps3 does it out of the box with both games and blu-ray movies. Resistence is true 7.1 channel linear pcm. 360 needs to step up their game and skip this silly Elite system and move on to bigger and better things like the 720!

peter-moore.jpgOur pals at 1up.com sat down with Peter Moore, the big daddy of all things Xbox for a follow up to the very in-depth to his interview there one year ago. He answers questions such as: What is next for Xbox and the next next gen, the problems with the voice chat and product failure issue, backwards compatibility and much more. If you own an Xbox product, you should definitely give this a read over.
