Halo 3 Pre-Launch Surprise Coming

drunk pandas | 1 Comment

halo-3-coop.jpg

Expect a crapload of Halo 3 details over the next week as we come closer to the release of the biggest game for the Xbox 360. Luke Smith posted on NeoGAF to let us know what to expect:

Sunday at Noon. Daily Content on Bnet between now and launch including Matchmaking Playlist reveals (maybe Tyson will write something on them, I gotta ask him tomorrowz), Networking, Saved Films, Guide and Tour of Bungie.net, more Forge, First Ever Halo 3 Humpday on brand new Forged Gametypes with films of Rocket Race, new 2 hour podcast with Joe Staten, Marty O’Donnell and Chris Gossett talking about the new Bnet, the next Blomkamp and finally, a long awaited pre-launch surprise.

Oooh a surprise? Wonder what it could be? I’m guessing some further single player details, but who knows. Knowing Bungie, it could honestly be anything. Oh, and “Bnet” = “bungie.net”.

Eternal SonataLooks like Eternal Sonata will be coming to a PS3 near you some time in the future. Eternal Sonata was not originally named as an exclusive Xbox 360 title, but no one had heard of it being ported over to any other consoles since it’s launch in Japan as Trusty Bell. Looks like the PS3 version has popped up on the official Namco/Bandai site. No date released just yet, but PS3 owners can breath easy knowing they will get a decent RPG coming their way, some may even hold off getting it for the Xbox 360 now.

GruntWith the launch of Bungie’s monster upcoming hit Halo 3 looming in the distance we wondered what gamers would be doing on that day? Do you think you will stay home and grab it the night before during a midnight opening, will you take the day off and grab it first thing in the morning, are you skipping everything and putting your life on hold for some Master Chief love? I have a suspicion what many will do….

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

MonkeyWith Sim City hitting the DS you figured it would only be some time until Zoo Tycoon made it’s way over. My guess is this will reign in the era of sims on the DS for next year. So now you can run your own Zoo on the go, complete with all kinds of exotic animals you can forget to feed and cahrge an arm and a leg to see. Seems like the DS is getting a lot of attention lately, with a lot of much awaited titles coming it’s way.

From the press release:

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. – Aug. 15, 2007 – THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) today announced Zoo Tycoon® 2 DS, based on the game published by Microsoft Game Studios and one of the most popular Windows PC-based life simulation franchises ever, is scheduled to make the brand’s second appearance on the Nintendo DS™ in early 2008. Developed by Altron, Zoo Tycoon 2 DS includes improved gameplay and new features that will captivate fans of the life simulation genre, as well as animal lovers who have long dreamed of running their own zoo. THQ’s original Zoo Tycoon DS game has become one of the top selling DS titles, having sold-in more than half a million units in the U.S., according to The NPD Group, since its initial launch.
