Team Fortress Screen 1

EA sent over some new screens for Team Fortress 2, shipping in The Orange Box. This looks to be one of the best multiplayer titles of the year, up there with Halo 3, CoD4, and Warhawk.

EA sent over the first of two videos of Hellgate: London to show the quest design of the game. From the press release:

Video demonstrates two in-game quests. The first is designed to play like a real-time strategy game where the player is given orders to take control of a unit and the second is where players take control of a turret to take out spectral minions from the sky above.

Army of Two Co-op Detail Video

EA sent over a video which details the co-op aspects of Army of Two. The game was built from the ground up to utilize co-op, and it really does a good job.

I can’t wait for this game to drop in November.

Orcs and Elves Box Art

EA sent over the first batch of screenshots from the new DS title, Orcs & Elves. The RPG looks very good and will ship November 13th with over ten hours of gameplay. From the fact sheet:

Orcs & Elves offers a breathtaking dungeon-crawling experience for any fantasy RPG gamer, featuring an Award-winning storyline spanning twelve sprawling levels within an ancient Dwarven kingdom.

As a young half-elf, a player will explore the ancient mountain-citadel of Zharrharag, a massive Dwarven fortress riddled with ancient treasure, powerful weapons, and waves of ruthless enemies.

The game will utilize the DS touch screen for puzzle solving and inventory management. I’m looking forward to checking this game out when it ships.

EA Announces Dead Space

Dead Space Image

EA sent out a press release to announce a new franchise, Dead Space. Set to ship in late 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, Dead Space is a third person sci-fi survival horror game that will scare the Be-Jesus out of you.

Set in the cold blackness of deep space, the atmosphere is soaked with a feeling of tension, dread and sheer terror. In Dead Space, players step into the role of engineer Isaac Clarke – an ordinary man on a seemingly routine mission to fix the communications systems aboard a deep space mining ship. It is not long before Isaac awakes to a living nightmare when he learns that the ship’s crew has been ravaged by a vicious alien infestation. He must fight through the dead silence and darkness of deep space to stay alive.

Sounds like a winner to me. Expect more details in the coming months as EA lets us know.

Crysis Screen

EA released, and then later retracted, the minimum system requirements for the upcoming PC hit Crysis. Unless these requirements are going up, I don’t see why they would be retracted.

CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

These really aren’t that bad. My laptop can probably run the game, but not that well. I have an ATI Radeon Mobility x1400 (256mb). We’ll see how it goes when the game ships later this year.

skateLet me start off by saying that another title is welcomed into the skating arena as Tony Hawk pretty much was basking in his own glory with no real competition, but this has all changed with skate from EA. The title simply titled skate is just that, skating in it’s rawest form, no crazy 720’s and flips, real physics and real crashes.

EA’s skate allows users to have a much more realistic feel to skateboarding and makes great use of the analog sticks. Instead of button mashing to get tricks out like in Tony Hawk, you instead use movements on your analog stick to perform different tricks, kind of like Fight Night. Also there is no button for grinding anymore, instead it all depends on how you land on the surface you plan on grinding.

MOHATo start off with I know what everyone is thinking that the genre of WWII games has been dragged out as far as it can possibly go and the horse has been beaten to death, but EA decides to take another stab at it with Medal of Honor Airborne. I was pleasantly surprised by the game so far, on normal difficulty the game is no push over and the presentation is awesome. In 5.1 surround sound the games explosions and gunfire pull you in, but more importantly the jumping out of planes element really got me excited.
