Gamers are getting some good treats this week on the PlayStation Store. New demos and some good videos for all.

• Everyday Shooter ($9.99 US)
• Ratchet and Clank Future: ToD Demo
• NHL 2K8 Demo
• Conan Demo
• Uncharted Behind The Scenes II Video
• Folklore Launch Trailer
• Fallout 3 Teaser Trailer
• The Assassination of Jesse James Trailer
• Spiderwick Chronicles Trailer
• Walk Hard Trailer
• Ratchet and Clank Future: ToD Wallpapers
• Everyday Shooter Wallpaper

I’ve been looking forward to the Ratchet and Clank demo for a long time now, so I can’t wait to get that downloaded and fire it up.

Today’s PlayStation Store update on the PS3 doesn’t seem too terrific, at least in my eyes. Here’s what will be available in the coming hours:

• Go! Sports Ski Game ($2.99 US)
• The Simpsons Demo
• Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War Demo
• NBA 08 key control play calling tutorial video
• Eye of Judgment tutorial video
• Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune BTS
• Haze Dev interview
• Tekkonkinkreet video
• Surf’s Up BD trailer

Simpsons demo FTW, but there’s not much else there to get me too excited. There were about 3-4 weeks in a row with killer content, and now we’re just waiting. Hopefully next week will remedy that when the Ratchet and Clank Future demo is released.

This week’s PlayStation Store update doesn’t live up to previous weeks, but still gives some good content. Here’s what you can download today on your PS3:

• Clive Barker’s Jericho Demo
• NBA 2K8 Demo
• MotorStorm “Castro Capitano” Vehicle ($0.99 US)
• Ninja Gaiden Sigma Speed Master Add-On ($2.99 US)
• NBA 08 Upside Progression System Tutorial Trailer
• Eye of Judgement Overview Trailer
• Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Trailer
• Iron Man Move Trailer
• We Own the Night Movie Trailer

Some decent stuff there, but it could be better. I’m sure this is going to just add to the rage some people have felt.

The new Ratchet and Clank title for the PS3 has some weight behind it, running around at 22GB of the max 25GB of the Blu-Ray disk. Yeah, that’s pretty big. According to PSU, even without the localizations, the title couldn’t fit on a DVD9.

That’s not it either. Ratchet and Clank Future will run at a blazing 60fps at both 720p and 1080i. Sweetness! Insomniac made it clear that all future PS3 titles will run at 60fps, which is great for PS3 gamers. Yes, that includes the upcoming sequel to Resistance Fall of Man.

Ratchet will tear onto store shelves October 23rd in the US, with a demo hitting the PlayStation Store October 4th.

This week, PS3 gamers get 4 new demos to spend their time with:

• skate
• NBA 08
• Sega Rally Revo
• Stuntman: Ignition

Along with the demos, the full version of LocoRoco Cocoreccho is now available for $6.99. If you’ve played the PSP version, you know how much fun this game is.

There are also a bunch of new wallpapers and new trailers from Ratchet and Clank Future, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Devil May Cry 4, and a lot of others. I’m hoping the new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer shows up on the PSN so I can watch it in 50″ HD.

I downloaded the demo for PixelJunk Racers on the PS3 the other day and played around a bit with it. The game is fun, but a bit weird. Basically, you control a little track racer car and try to complete various objectives and win the race.

There’s a bunch of game modes, with only a few available in the demo. There’s mode to overtake a certain number of other racers, manage your speed to stay in a target circle, and plowing over other cars. The controls are fairly simple, with the triggers each working as a gas pedal and the d-pad used to change lanes. The graphics aren’t anything to write home about, with the cars being small colored rectangles on the screen.

I’m not sure this game is really worth the purchase. I might spend some more time with the demo, but I don’t see myself dropping $6.99 on this one.

Konami showed off a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 at their press event at TGS today, but no recording was allowed. They’ll be releasing the video as a download tomorrow around 3pm EDT.

No word where the release will be, but I would expect both the intarwebs and the PlayStation Store on the PS3. I’m hoping for PlayStation Store so I can watch it on my 50″ 1080p set.

Now all we need is a demo… I’m not going to hold my breath though.

Sony is pulling out all the stops yet again with this week’s update to the PlayStation Store on the PS3. Check out the massive list below:

• High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition ($9.99)
• PixelJunk Racers Demo
• Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground Demo
• NHL 08 Demo
• Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Demo
• FIFA 08 Demo
• Everyday Shooter Trailer
• Warhawk Trailer

• Juiced 2 Trailer
• High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition Trailer
• Soul Caliber IV Trailer
• High Stakes: Poker Wallpaper

That’s a lot content again this week. I hope Sony can keep up the momentum that they’ve built.

Activision sent out a press release letting us know that a demo for Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground is now available for Xbox 360 and will be released this afternoon for the PS3 in the regularly scheduled PlayStation Store update.

The demo takes skaters to Philadelphia (one of three cities in Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground) to begin shredding the pavement as contest-winning Career Athletes, fast and furious Hardcore Skaters and creative maverick Riggers, who alter and modify the world into their own skate park. As players progress they will experience the latest advancements in the world-renowned franchise, including Nail the Grab, for the ultimate control of grab tricks and tweaks; the Aggro Kick for clearing huge gaps; Rigging goals, enabling players to tweak the environment however they want to create unique skate lines; and video creation with the full-featured video editor for epic skate videos.

Personally, I think the series is played out and should just be retired for a while. The yearly iterations with very little innovation are killing the game.

Hit the jump for more…

Since High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition is coming in a couple days to the PS3, why not check out what the game looks like? You’ve seen the screens, now check out the trailer.

With the large amount of customization and game modes, this is definitely a steal for $10.

Here’s your HD goodness.
