We brought you the minimum requirements to run Crysis on your computer, so the least we could do is show you a glimpse of what you can expect from EA and Crytek. Here is some pretty gameplay with a splash of backstory, it has a Halo meets GRAW feel to it, but looks pretty amazing.
So Halo 3 has been out now for 2 weeks and I am sure everyone has gotten a chance to check this out in some way shape or form, so now it’s time to tackle a review. Halo 3 is Bungie’s follow up to its two predecessors Halo 1 and 2 and picks up right where they left off. After months of advertising and hardcore marketing now gamers get a chance to put Master Chief into action and judge just how good this behemoth really is?
Presentation and Graphics: Halo 3 is polished, not light years beyond Halo 2, but you can see the difference when viewing the game on an HD screen, especially during the cut scenes. Master Chief’s visor never looked so shiny! A nice new distinction now is that you can customize your characters appearance for multi player matches, now you don’t have to always use the same Spartan armor and can actually get the Ninja Gaiden helmet if you collect all the skulls. 4 out of 5
Sound and Music: Halo 3 in 5.1 surround sound does extremely well; there is enough Gregorian chant and inspiring orchestra music to fill a room at any time. From the opening credits the familiar sound of Halo comes booming out of the speakers and carries all the way through. The music plays a big part in the game in that when you hear the inspirational music begin you know you are headed up to a big encounter or cut-scene. AI commentary is pretty funny too, a few times I found myself laughing after hearing grunts yell out that I killed their brother. 4.5 out of 5

So I got a voice mail a few minutes ago from my good friend chiwotwieler. Was he drunk? I can’t say for certain, but it sure provided a good bit of laughter. Here’s a transcript:
Hey man, umm, what do you think Master Chief is doing right now? I mean, it’s like 500 years before he fights the Covenant. So and like, is he like at a pool or something, or at a club? I like to think he’s at a club, like dancing. Do you think he has the armor on? I’m just wonderin’
He said “I like to think he’s at a club, like dancing” EXACTLY the same way as Cal Naughton Jr. from Ricky Bobby (”I like to picture Jesus in tuxedo t-shirt”). I have to say, it’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while. Kudos chiwotweiler.

Microsoft issued a press release this morning to let us know that Bungie will “embark on a path to become an independent company“.
“This exciting evolution of our relationship with Microsoft will enable us to expand both creatively and organizationally in our mission to create world-class games,” said Harold Ryan, studio head for Bungie. “We will continue to develop with our primary focus on Microsoft® platforms; we greatly value our mutually prosperous relationship with our publisher, Microsoft Game Studios; and we look forward to continuing that affiliation through ‘Halo’ and beyond.”
Microsoft will retain an equity interest in Bungie, as the continue to develop games in the Halo franchise to be published by Microsoft Game Studios.
So what does this all really mean? We’re not exactly sure. It does mean Bungie now has the opportunity to make multi-platform games, but not Halo. When and how they choose to reveal these projects is still up in the air.
Back a few weeks ago we discussed getting ripped like a Spartan by doing the 300 workout which pretty much was doing ridiculous amount of repitions to total up to 300.
Now we bring you the Master Chief “Teabag to Fitness” video. Yes you too can get those quads buffed and ready in just 1 easy minute a day. I thought the funniest part was when Master Chief smacks the guy working out with him. Maybe someone will make a Mario inspired version, stomping Goombas to a six-pack!? What do you think?
So of course with all the Halo 3 related news the good old big apple would not be outdone so they had a huge event at Best Buy for the Midnight Launch of Halo 3, complete with guys dressed up as marines riding around on quad bikes. The crowd was ridiculous as they awaited the arrival of Halo 3 as if the New Year were being rung in. There was even a pretty convincing looking Master Chief walking around, I wonder how much that would cost for Halloween? All and all a huge success in NYC.

A lot of people will be flocking to their nearest retail outlet tonight at midnight ot jump on the Halo 3 bandwagon and many will argue if it is worth the effort. A lot of hardcore Halo fans will continue to love the game, other more casual fans are dis-interested in more of the same thing and the small majority can care less. The hype train definitely is helping this game along and I think that even if the game is horrible it still will sell huge volumes because of all the media blitzing it has received. Here is a look at the three versions of Halo, the combat has evolved but has the graphics evolved…. you be the judge?
If you have not been to Wikipedia, you need to do so. Aside from being a very credible and free encyclopedia, it has a wealth of information everything now in the world of video games, sci fi, movies, etc. One of their best features and its lifeline is that users can add information, citations, photos, as well as comment and mark things as false and/or stupid.
It seems that a Sony employee, who has a very traceable IP address, made this comment about Halo 3 according to computervideogames:
It won’t look any better than Halo 2″ was added to the entry by IP address 217.18.23.2, which leads straight to SCEE in Liverpool.
Is this news, not really. I just find it funny when Sony looks stupid, even though it was just the work of a lazy employee.

That’s right, everyone’s favorite fanboy crazed title, Halo 3, has gone gold. Microsoft sent out a press release today to let us know their flagship title has been released to manufacturing.
“This is a huge milestone for us and a big cause for celebration at Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios,” said Harold Ryan, Studio Head at Bungie Studios. “This is the game we’ve always wanted to make and certainly the best game our studio has developed. We can’t wait for gamers to get their hands on it on Sept. 25.”
Hopefully Bungie had time to put the polish on this one, unlike Halo 2. I have 3 to 1 odds on there being a patch within the first week of the game’s release, if not launch day.
This 10 minute plus video gives you an in depth look at Bungie’s upcoming RTS and new take on the Halo Universe. Notice the detail on the in this game. It’s almost uncanny. I absolutely suck at RTS’s but this demo has some serious possibilities. If you have read any of the Halo books, you will really enjoy all of the weapons and mythology that do not always make it into the mainstream game.
