Nintendo announced this morning that you will be able to download DS demos via your Wii in the comfort of your own home instead of having to go to a download station in an official Nintendo store. This is an awesome feature that is long overdo, now Nintendo needs to pony up and get with some remote play action like Sony is trying. I will definitely use my DS more if I can try out games and see what they are like before going out to buy them.

Most people that have managed to find a Wii are in love with Wii Sports. particularly with the bowling and the baseball. We have already seen some other iterations of the bowling games, but now Wii Baseball gets some competition with MLB Power Pros.
MLB Power Pros is a Japanese title that focses on pick up and play baseball using super cute little characters. Of most interest to me in this title is the ability to put your Mii’s into baseball games; I want to make a cartoon version of myself to play firstbase for the New York Yankees. Stay tuned for a full review of this title coming soon for the Wii. MLB Power Pros is also available for the PS2 if you don’t have a Wii yet.
Here is a clip of a Japanese girl show casing a game during a convension. The controller she is sitting on what looks like a broom handle so I thought it was a new Harry Potter game, but then the screen she is using is touch sensitive. Looks oddly interesting and I am sure many Japanese men will thoroughly enjoy this video, what do you think?
Japan will see a downloadable demo of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on the PS3 on October 20th (which happens to be this editor’s birthday). No word on the rest of the world, but I’d expect it to hit the US and Europe a few weeks later, as that’s the standard we’ve seen previously.
Translated from the latest edition of Famitsu:
Sounds good to me. Hopefully we see the demo and final release close to the same time Japan does.
Looks like Eternal Sonata will be coming to a PS3 near you some time in the future. Eternal Sonata was not originally named as an exclusive Xbox 360 title, but no one had heard of it being ported over to any other consoles since it’s launch in Japan as Trusty Bell. Looks like the PS3 version has popped up on the official Namco/Bandai site. No date released just yet, but PS3 owners can breath easy knowing they will get a decent RPG coming their way, some may even hold off getting it for the Xbox 360 now.
I had heard about this and thought it was interesting, it is a game that someone made with a bra and boxer controller combo for their thesis. The game plays kind of like DDR and there are different sensors you have to touch to achieve “sexy time”, unfortunately the presenter of this thesis could make a sober man drink with her horrible monotone voice. I can see Nintendo making this concept a game in Japan for the Wii, they are probably working on patents for the Wii Bra and Wii Boxers right now.
This is the most fast paced game of Tetrs I have ever seen a human being play. This guy makes Tetris look like breathing, some re arguing that it may be a hack but as the vid plays longer you can see him make some errors and then correct for them. Really incredible.
Sony quietly dropped the release date for the PS3 version of LocoRoco at a post E3 event in Japan. The game will be released 9/21 in Japan, with no worldwide release or pricing set.
There are some major differences from the PSP version. You take control this time of a butterfly, or perhaps a group of butterfiles, known as “Cocoreccho.” By pressing the circle button, you can make the Cocoreccho shout “boo boo.” This makes the sleeping LocoRoco in your area wake up and come to you. Your goal is to lead the LocoRoco to the stage’s goal.
The game’s title, incidentally, tells the whole story. “Boo Boo” is what Cocoreccho say to make the LocoRoco come to them (”oideyo” is Japanese for ordering someone to come to you).
I’m very excited for this title, as the PSP version with insanely addicting. Even the cheesy music got stuck in your head.
The Blue Dragon RPG, is an import form Japan that features music from the FF guys and anime from the DB guys. That is a hefty lineup, it almost doesn’t matter what the game is like. So far the screens I have seen from Blue Dragon have not blown me away and I am not sure if it will hold the same poplarity it has in Japan, but let’s see what the main character Shu can do before we toss him ot the curb.
From the press release:
Famed game producer Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker game studio and developer Artoon present the highly anticipated Xbox 360-exclusive “Blue Dragon.” Featuring the character design of Akira Toriyama, who designed “Dragon Ball Z,” and music by Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for “Final Fantasy,” “Blue Dragon” is an epic role-playing game (RPG) centered on a young boy named Shu and several of his friends. These unlikely heroes possess miraculous strength and magical power to control phantom shadows that mirror the actions of their masters.

The Wii fit when first released did not receive the reception that Nintendo had hoped for. Many people thought of this as a gimmick and another inferior product in the Wii’s short life. Apparently for our friends, in the far east, the Wii Fit is making Mothra type waves. Gameindustrybiz reports that Wii Fit is at the top of a most wanted game list conducted by polls afterE3:
1. Wii Fit
2. New PSP model
3. Gameplay demo of Metal Gear Solid 4
4. Upcoming software for the PlayStation 3
5. Upcoming software for the Xbox 360
6. Announcement of the Zapper for the Wii
7. Little Big Planet
8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
9. Peter Moore leaving Microsoft to go to EA
10. PlayStation Home
Also notice that there is only one Microsoft related tidbit on this list.
