Well I was hearing good things about the new game ’skate’ from EA that just came out, so I decided to open it up and give it a spin and a card popped out with a note for a free download of a mobile version for my phone. It is actually really easy to get, you text “skate” to this number, 22123 and they message you back with the game, only hitch is that my phone is T-Mobil and they don’t support T-mobil. They do support Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Virgin Mobile and alltel, I am just SOL! Check it out and let us know.

::Please note that all standard text messaging costs are applicable::

There’s some free stuff available today on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Sponsored by Best Buy, you can now grab a new Halo 3 theme and picture pack.

While the content is free, it won’t be up forever. So fire up your 360 and grab these before their gone. We know how much you love Halo, so I’m sure there’s some soiled underwear with this free content.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the folks over at Ninja Bee (makers of Cloning Clyde, Band of Bugs, etc.) sent us over some great shirts for a future contest. Just a friendly reminder that you can now download the Hidden Fronts map pack for Gears of War on the Xbox 360 for free. That’s right, FREE. Previously costing 800 MS Points, the now free pack consists of four maps.

Bullet Marsh: In this Kryll-infested swamp, an old generator still powers the area lights. A few stray bullets could easily knock out the generator, leaving combatants to fend for themselves against the Kryll.

Garden: This overgrown and crumbling conservatory still has a working fertilization and pesticide system. This system can pose a serious hazard to anyone who ventures into the greenhouse without first venting the air.

Process: Teams must fight for control of this subterranean Imulsion processing plant, still active despite the cessation of the Pendulum wars.

Subway: Timgad’s Central Subway station used to serve as a central hub for commuters. Now the tunnels are crawling with Locust.

These maps are needed for the extra 250 achievement points in the game. So now you don’t have to pay for that extra gamerscore. I grabbed them yesterday, but I’m too engrossed by BioShock to take the game out of the tray.

In another week, you’ll be able to download the Hidden Fronts map pack for Gears of War on the Xbox 360 for free. That’s right, FREE. Previously costing 800 MS Points, the new free pack consists of four maps.

In case you didn’t want to drop the 800 MS Points for the GRAW2 Throwback Pack that was released this past May, you can now download it for free for the Xbox 360.

The pack includes 7 remastered maps from the original Ghost Recon and the first GRAW.

Too little, too late I think. Most people have moved on from GRAW2 on the Xbox 360 and started playing other games. I think Ubisoft almost had to do this on 360 since the PS3 version will include these maps for free.

If you have not picked up an Xbox 360 yet and wanted to get some free stuff, go to create your own set up at Xbox.com and you can score yourself two free Xbox Live arcade games with your purchase.

The two titles are Frogger and Robotron, but they are both free with your purchase, so the price is right.

Just go here.

We previously told you about all the updates to Lost Planet that would bring some free maps to the Xbox 360. That time is now here.

Map Pack 3, which was previously 400 MS Points, is now available for the cool price of nothing. So if you still have the desire to play Lost Planet, fire up your 360 and grab these free maps, which include “Lost Technology,” “Ruins,” and “Ice Drop”.

I’m always a fan of free, and it’s not that often we get free stuff as downloads these days.

In case you haven’t already tried this very addictive game, Blizzard is now giving out free samples to get you hooked on World of Warcraft: Burning Crusades. Click here if you want a taste, but I warn you this could be the beginning of a long dark road, one where you are tricking yourself out for one more month of that WoW fix. So try at your own risk.

Those crafty devils at Blizzard have not teased us enough with their monumental announcement of the new Starcraft 2 game, so they decide to entice us some more with the prospect of free gear at their upcoming BlizzCon.

“However, we wanted to give out even more, so we’ll also be providing a beta key for an upcoming Blizzard game. If you’re not enticed yet, you should definitely check out the in-game murloc suit, an item that can be redeemed and given to your favorite World of Warcraft character.”

Screw the murloc suit, is this beta key for Starcraft 2? Will they be opening a beta and handing out keys ate BlizzCon, the mind races at the possibilities.
