There’s a new demo up on the Xbox Live Marketplace for PGR4. Major Nelson reports that the demo in all regions for once.

Race three exotic cars and two beauteous bikes through the streets of Macau and a snow laden Nürburgring. Includes an exclusive Nürburgring Snow Challenge and unique PGR Arcade Events.

The demo should give you a good feel for the game and decide if you want to pick this one up. I’m still on the fence, especially with the bikes. With all the other amazing games this Holiday season and me getting married, I highly doubt I’ll have time for PGR4. Maybe I’ll pick it up around Christmas.

Anyway, the demo weighs in at 1.27GB, so make sure you have some free space on your HDD.

Attention all Xbox Gold members, (is there really anyone who has silver), anyway, there will be some free content that you can download starting tonight at Midnight. They will only be free from Sept 25-30. Here is what you can get:

Forza 2 is going to get some new cars this weekend on the Xbox 360. For 400 MS Points ($5 US), you can race around in these 10 new cars:

• 2007 SEAT Leon Cupra (FREE DOWNLOAD)
• 2006 Audi R10 (#8 Audi Sport Team Joest) Prototype
• 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi
• 2006 Dodge Challenger Concept
• 2006 Honda Civic Si Coupe
• 2007 Honda Civic Type-R
• 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400
• 2006 Lamborghini Miura Concept
• 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)
• 2007 Saturn Sky Red Line
• 2007 SEAT Leon Supercup

There’s a couple cool ones there, including the Audi R10, which is my personal favorite. I haven’t touched Forza in a long time, and I don’t think this is enough to bring me back into the game.

A demo for Activision’s new Spider-Man title is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. From the description on the Marketplace:

Join Spider-Man and one of his Sidekicks in Co-Op or Single Player action on the rain-slick rooftops of downtown Tokyo.

The demo for Spider-Man: Friend or For weighs in at 431.29 MB and is available everywhere except Asia. I’m anxious to see how the gameplay, especially the camera, work in the game.

There’s some free stuff available today on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Sponsored by Best Buy, you can now grab a new Halo 3 theme and picture pack.

While the content is free, it won’t be up forever. So fire up your 360 and grab these before their gone. We know how much you love Halo, so I’m sure there’s some soiled underwear with this free content.

Guitar Hero II is a real fun game and when I heard you could download games it got even better, until I heard the price tag of the songs. Many people have expressed the same level of dislike in the pricy songs yet here we are with more than two million single songs accessed through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace since April. That is a lot of downloads of items people complained about and with Guitar Hero III scheduled to feature Master Tracks, Original Songs and more Downloadable Content, Activision will be swimming in cash in no time.

From the press release:

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sep 11, 2007 – Downloadable Xbox 360 video game song packs for Activision, Inc.’s (Nasdaq:ATVI) Guitar HeroTM II hit multi-platinum status with more than 650,000 downloads through Xbox LIVE Marketplace® in less than five months, as defined by the music industry’s RIAA. Each downloadable pack contains three individual songs. Individual songs combined have topped the two million mark, making the Guitar Hero II packs some of the most downloaded content on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

There’s a demo for TimeShift out now on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Here’s some footage of gameplay from that demo.

To me, the time shifting seems gimmicky and it’s just another FPS.

Here’s your HD goodness.

Another year, same story. Today on the Xbox Live Marketplace you can buy yourself a cheat to max out your golfer’s stats in Tiger Woods 08. The price, 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50).

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 Maxed Out Player (200 MS Points) – 8/31
Max out your original game face golfer’s skills. Save yourself the time of building up your golfer, and instantly set all skills to 110%!

Just like last year, I’m willing to bet this sells a bunch. Seriously, why as gamers do we let this stand? Everyone needs to speak up and tell EA that selling cheat codes isn’t going to fly.

Microsoft struck a deal with 20th Century Fox that’s giving them the rights to sell the first two seasons of Family Guy on the Xbox 360’s Video Marketplace.

The shows will be available starting Monday for 160 MS Points each ($2 USD). Sorry non US residents, but still no Video Marketplace for you.

I’m still not happy with the pricing for TV shows in the Video Marketplace. Other services like iTunes offer season pass options, so why is there nothing like this on the XBL Marketplace? To put in perspective, you can buy the Family Guy Volume 1 DVD collection from Amazon for $35. There are 29 episodes included here, which is the first 2 seasons. Those episodes, if purchased on the Video Marketplace, will run you $58. Makes absolutely no sense to me. But hey, I’m sure they’ll sell like hotcakes since people will buy anything these days.

If you’re a fan of My Chemical Romance, you’re in luck. There’s now a new 3 song pack available for 500 MS Points for Guitar Hero II.

From the press release:

My Chemical Romance track pack includes the following master recordings:

• Teenagers
• Famous Last Words
• This is How I Disappear

The three My Chemical Romance tracks available for download can be found on their latest highly touted and platinum-selling album, The Black Parade.

Another pack, another 500 MS Points. When is RedOctane and Microsoft going to drop the price on these? I really don’t see too many people buying this pack.
