Today is the day that all of you can finally get your hands on what has a strong chance at being 2010’s Game of the Year. God of War III is out now on store shelves, so make sure to run out and get a copy today. Whether you rush through the game in 7 hours, skipping orb chests and collectibles, or you pine over every detail on the hardest difficulty for 15+ hours, this one will be in your PS3 for a while. I played through for my review on Normal and it took me somewhere in the 11-12 hour neighborhood, for those wondering. If you were living under a rock last week and missed our review, definitely check it out.
With tremendous replay value, as with all God of War games, I can see myself getting back into Kratos’ shoes quite a few times. I’m already about 7-8 hours in on my second play through (again on Normal, just looking for a few collectibles I missed my first time through). I’m sure many of you will be in the same boat in a week or so when you want more action.

GameStop posted their list of midnight openings for God of War III this coming Monday night. This is game is worth standing out in the cold with a bunch of guys that live in their mom’s basement. Take Tuesday off work. It’s that damn good.
If GameStop isn’t your thing and you don’t like staying up late, make sure to get out on Tuesday to pick up your copy. There’s a very strong possibility that God of War III will be the game of the year, so don’t miss out.
The God of War series has served as the gold standard for hack-and-slash action games since its inception in 2005. Amazing gameplay, top notch graphics and a compelling storyline have been hallmarks of Kratos’ adventures between Hades and Mount Olympus. For his first foray on the PS3, Kratos made sure to bring his A-game. There’s no doubt about it, this is a must own title and a system seller.

God of War III may be releasing in March of next year, but that isn’t stopping Sony from cashing in on fanboys of the original game (such as myself.) Although in this case, my fanboyism is justified - God of War is the pinnacle of PlayStation 2 technology, as well as being one of the standards at which other third person action games are made. I mean, after all, the game is pretty much responsible for popularizing Quick Time Events.
If you haven’t preordered God of War III yet, you probably don’t have access to the awesome E3 demo that Sony released as a preorder bonus. If you do, you know exactly how badass and fun this is. I played it at E3 and haven’t had a chance to fire it up yet at home, but I will be very soon.
Sony announced today that the original God of War games will be seeing a re-release this holiday season, complete with 720p HD graphics, 60 frames per second, and more quick time sex events than you can shake a Blade of Chaos at. As an added bonus, both games will support PS3 trophies, if you’re into that kind of thing.
God of War represents the pinnacle of Playstation 2 technology - minimum load times, amazing graphics, and fluid combat, and an updated high definition release is just the type of thing to augment next year’s God of War III. The 2 disc compilation will cost $39.99. Not bad considering they are two of the best games to graze the PS2. I’ll be picking this up as soon as it is out, how about you guys?
Your pants won’t make a tent when you see the saggy chesticles on the Harpies in God of War III. Those beasts are nasty, but at least you get to hitch a ride. From the looks of this footage from the San Diego Comic Con, the demo is probably the same one I played back at E3, which was damn fun.
Remember that ultra violent and ultra bad ass God of War 3 trailer that came out a few weeks ago? Well, hear it is again but with pop ups every few seconds to give a really detailed look at one of the most anticipated titles in some time. Ancient death mittens FTW.
