Now that the iPhone is one giant step closer to being made available to the masses, an entire group of gamers will be able to purchase from the app store. As their are literally thousands of games to choose from, some do stand to rise about the rest. Some games pose a more active experience like the awesome Street Fighter IV or NBA JAM, but the casual gamer likes a more passive approach, much like how Angry Birds has taken over the planet. Puckerz is a relaxing, bumper/brick break game that boasts excellent graphics and an addicting style of play.
Puckerz is actually quite simple to play. You choose a puck, then you have to collect orbs around an enclosed area before a timer runs out. You move said puck by sliding your finger back and releasing. Sounds simple enough because it is, but the devs here have installed many a roadblock in your way. There are holes, mines, and other surprises that will fuck your puck up so to speak. Nevertheless, there are speed bonus, bumpers, collection bonuses that give more time amongst other perks that will help you collect your quota.
My take on Puckerz is this: It is a pretty good game for taking dumps at the office. Sound is not required, there is very little movement as far as controls, once you release the puck you wait until it stops, and you can pause the game if need be. For $0.99, the game is well worth it. It also records your scores and awards medals on how well you played. There is a lot of puck for your buck here and its a great way to kill time during your mid-morning grumpy.
