The Darkness II is a Real Thing

Were you a big fan of The Darkness? To be honest, I wasn’t. The game was okay, but nothing that made me want to replay or even finish the campaign. So while a new game is definitely coming, as announced this morning from 2K Games, I’m not as excited as some of you out there. From the press release:

The Darkness II breaks out of the sea of conventional first-person shooters with its fervid Quad-Wielding gameplay, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with the use of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and engulfed in stylistic violence that is visualized through a hand-painted graphic noir technique that stays true to its comic book origins.

The game is launching this Fall to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, so you’ve got plenty of time to play the first game if you haven’t already. I have a few friends that did love the first game and are big fans of the comics, so this news is sure to make a few of you happy. I’m just not in that boat.

The coolest thing about the demo I played of it was that when you are wielding two guns and put your character against a wall for cover, the guns will adapt to the wall like your character is setting them on the wall. Pretty cool addition (if being a small one) for a B or even C caliber game.

Yes I was a huge fan of Darkness. Been so long since I played, which I was addicted for about a year I forgot about this game. I will be one of first to get it when it comes out.
