If you’re picking up Homefront when it releases in March, you might want to take note that Microsoft has secured some timed exclusive rights to all DLC for the game. A similar deal is in place for all Call of Duty DLC on Xbox 360. The news was announced by Major Nelson today at a Homefront media event in New York City.
It’s yet to be seen just how popular Homefront‘s multiplayer component will be, and with most DLC consisting of map packs, take this one as you will. The DLC will eventually come to PS3 and other platforms, but no word was given on the length of the exclusivity agreement or if it applies to the already announced Homefront 2.
To go along with the timed exclusives, the Xbox 360 version of Homefront will also ship with an extra free map, “Suburbs”, when the game ships. If you’re planning to sink in a ton of multiplayer time with the game, you might want to look into getting the Xbox 360 version. As for me, I’m platform agnostic and the multiplayer here doesn’t have me that intrigued (nor do most FPS at this point), so I’ll grab the game for whichever system needs more love from me in March.
