Back in March of this year when I went to PAX East, I kept drifting toward a game from EA called Dante’s Inferno. A few months later, I bought the game and a few months after that I finally played it. Now I haven’t played a single player console game in a really long time but I found myself alone and bored over 4th of July weekend so I pulled the game out and gave it a shot. I was hooked. I couldn’t stop playing until I finished it. It seemed to have the perfect mix of story and graphic art. It mixed flashbacks and video with intense game play. I never played God of War so I have no comparison of the two. I loved this game for the simple pleasure it gave me and the incredible distraction it provided to my real life.
The game isn’t that long, it can be played in a day. The first play through took me about 15 hours. I played the holy side (you can choose holy or unholy) and maxed out my stats. Finishing the game unlocks a new outfit. Craving more Dante, I started another game (with the new crusader outfit) and worked on the unholy side. I was able to keep all my strengths and artifacts during the second play through and add to my skills. My Dante was awesome and I finished the second game in 8 hours!! I bought the extra DLC and it came with a 3rd outfit, a disco suit!!
Fast forward a few more months and I’m sitting here with a friend who I encouraged to play this game and he is having a blast. This is what prompted me to write about this. If you’ve never tried this game and want a good story based, boss battle game play, get this game. Descend into Hell and enjoy the ride. Let’s hope the rumors of a sequel are true.

It’s a fun game, but I felt the later levels were kinda just scrapped together. Also, it’s a complete knock off of God of War. Except with a scythe.
Never bought it just played the demo. It wasn’t bad it’s very over he top which can be fun. I’ll give it a shot if I find it cheap.
Couldn’t agree more, Merrie. I got it through Gamefly and loved the story line of redemption and sacrifice. Although I agree the last few levels felt tacked on, I enjoyed the experience and overall level design enough to overlook that. Also, what was up with Lucifer’s enormous schlong?? Seriously, even with a ten foot long scythe I felt inadequate.
Funny thing about the enormous schlong, I don’t remember it the first time I played, but I was also sitting farther back when I played. When my friend was playing last night, I was like “holy crap, look at that thing”.
wdf ive played through it once but i dont have my crusader costume on all my skills D:
