Fable is that rare franchise that often promises the world, delivers about 3/4 of it, receives decent critical acclaim, but sells a shit ton of copies. The simple reason for this, the games are just a lot of fun to play. The much anticipated Fable III has arrived and even though the Kinect rumors came and went and some things were left out, this is by far the best Fable yet and a great Xbox exclusive even the most ardent of fanboys will wish they could play.
Right away, you will see how good Fable III looks. By far the best graphically in the series. The character models are much improved from Fable 2 as well as their interaction. The crux of all Fable games is the decision making process and how it will affect your playthrough. It has never been more apparent than in this game. Right away, and I mean right away, you are faced with choices that will affect your entire experience. This is what sets Fable III above the other games in the series. You have a grand experience shaped by a many decisions both small and large. This is essentially a Make-Your-Own-Adventure book. You will also notice that progress tracking is now changed to Guild Medals you will earn by playing. These will be spent to upgrade your character via opening treasure chests. Combat is largely unchanged but spellcasting has been simplified.
Fable III is the opposite of games like Ninja Gaiden. It is not that difficult. The game is not a breeze, but do not expect controller throwing moments. The developers want you to enjoy and explore, not grind away and be stuck at overly frustrating moments. The drop in/drop out Co-op is awesome. Player 1 will always have their mission progression saved, but player 2 will not. However, all of the skills, weapons, upgrades, etc. that you purchase are yours. So, you can play with a friend, keep all your loot, but not have to worry about rushing through the game. The game is easier with two people, but who cares. It is a lot of fun on one shared screen. Your weapons also reflect your upgrades as well. They will change as you change. Truly awesome.
Fable III finally delivers what we have all been expecting. This is a huge sandbox game set one generation after the end of Fable 2. You are given a world in which to make your way as a hero/heroine anyway you want. Be a righteous hero and people will love you. Be a murderous tyrant and sprout demon wings. Play somewhere in between and see what happens. With a game embedded with so many choices, the possibilities are almost endless. The game might be a little easy for hardcore gamers, but this was designed for the gamer who wants to lose their mind in another world for a few hours a night. And maybe marry someone online in the process. Grab a sword and conquer Albion. Or burn it. Or be bisexual. It’s your choice.

I couldn’t care what reviews say, I know that this game will suck. It seems that that bugged and unfinished abomination known as Fable II was just a beta test for Fable III. I know where my money is going and it’s not on any rubbish Lionhead throws at us.

@hEY I must say that I dont play a lot of other adventure games but I have bought and played the whole Fable series. I must agree with you that Fable to was crap and deserves to burn, but I did buy Fable 3. I must say that it has improved alot from Fable 2. I ask that you at least rent Fable 3 before you make a judgement like this. Fable 3 is a really great game. If I could I would buy the whole world a copy just so they could share my bliss of how great this is.

Wow a lot of angry kids on this one. I bought the last two Fables and really never finished either. With so much coming out I will skip this one I think beyond graphics the game hasn’t really changed that much.
