One of my gripes with the new Halo: Reach stat page is that the rankings are not there. Before in Halo 3, it was clearly visible to what the requirements were for each rank as well as Skill. Now that Skill has been dropped and they have adapted the aggregate point total for rankings, after the jump is every point requirement for every rank up to Colonel. We will bring you the higher ranks as they are made available.

It says in the official halo reach signature series guide "the amount of credits requierd for a promotion from commander grade 3 to colonel is more than the total number of credits for your first eight promotions!"

Actually, there are not ranks after Lt. Colonel at this point. Bungie has confirmed that Lt. Colonel is the current rank cap for Halo: Reach. They'll be raising the level cap eventually, but for you, no can't get any higher.

I just got 20,000 CR in Commendations and Challenges, and it didn’t even get me a 4th of the way to Captain. So much Bullshit how long it takes.

To answer your question, yes, it takes less. Warrant Officer Grade 3 is a hump rank, it’s implemented as a measure to differentiate the type of player between a Captain and the lesser ranked (Warrant Officer and below), just like it takes more to get from Captain Grade 3 to Major than it does to get from Major to Major Grade 1.
It’s there to make it a challenge, to make you feel rewarded when you rank up from a Grade 3 to a new rank. Comprende?
Also, the reason for captain is so hard to work for is because it is also an achievement.
I’d like to know when the level cap is going to be released so i can trudge further down this road of insanity . I’ve made the long haul to Lt. Colonel 3rd class the hard & honest way , only to be met with a road block . a level cap . Why ? These ranks really only show your dedication or foolishness . It does not show your true skill .( EXAMPLE : i understand that a guy playing Modern Warfare is atempting to Prestieage without killing anyone ) Bungie is demoting , if you will Cheater’s . the more daily and weekley challeges we do the closer we will get to more ranks they are going to do this feeding system to get us to do challenges and honestly i dont think its a bad idea i mean i do challenges anyways to credit me up im about to be captian and want to save my credits for when we find out when security comes out.

As far as the level cap… I would not hold your breath. With all the data resets, a lot of the Grade 3 Lt Col cheated so don’t expect a boost just yet.

I just figured out something, while I was playing reach, I’m an Lieutenant Colonel Grade 3 and it says Max Rank. What the hell!?
Although when I could connect to my internet (It is crap) It said I was a Commander, when is Bungie going to sort this problem out, so then the rest of the ranks will be avaliable, because there’s a helmet, I’m dying for but I need to be commander online

after i get to Lt. Colonel i will keep it @ 8 hours a week or less

what is the fastest way to rank up in reach?
am at major grade 3 so hopefully all this talk about ranking system screw ups will get fixed so a would keep on ranking up and the best way to earn credits fast in doing firefight matchmakeing yourself for the best score playing gruntpocalpse for headshots or sniper attack plus you get infinite ammo in sniper attack if you want your commendatios faster kill a grunt that has a fuel rod cannon then blast every enemys you see in sniper attack a can rank up to grade 1 to grade 2 in a day sumtimes a can get to the 3rd grade on the same day then the next day a can get to the next rank hope a help you guys gamer tag TDA spectre thats me

Rewarding? that makes me laugh. all you have to do is play. aslong as you play enough games you’ll go up. It’s the most unrewarding game since call of duty. Even arena is pointless. you have to wait 10 days to get a division. i dont have the time or patience to play 10 days consecutively. I probably wouldn’t get a division until the end of the 30 days.
Personally, I believe dropping their global ranking system. ie, needing a level 50 to reach general was a big mistake. the new ranking system might aswell be a counting clock that never stops. yawn yawn yawn.

Theres a level cap and it will probably be lifted a little past halloween probably, I heard somewhere that the xp u get now goes to the next level but I wouldn’t count on it
the cr you score does count. keep building them up and when the cap is released you will upgrade to the appropriate level. it says in the bungie update.

Every single credit you get counts towards higher ranks. Meaning, you can get over Lt. colonel grade 3, you just can’t see it yet.
So it doesn’t matter when they update it, you’ll just jump to the rank you’re supposed to be.
Every 1 here is pretty stupid for believing that post its a fact that Colonel is after Lt. Colonel then comander cuz u can see stuff that require Colonel when u become a captain then when u reach Lt. Colonel (which i have) u can see stuff for comander such as carters and emiles helmet and the pilot helmet ( aka the one u can eventually get the happy halloween thing)
