Gamescom 2010: Mass Effect 2 Coming To PS3

Right now across the pond (or in your neck of the woods if you live over there) Gamescom 2010 in Germany is going on. During the EA press conference, BioWare has teamed up to reveal that Mass Effect 2 will be coming out on the PS3 platform in 2011.

No word yet on if we’ll eventually see a port of the original Mass Effect game, but Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 will be loaded down with “hours of bonus content, making this the perfect introduction to BioWare’s award-winning action RPG franchise.” It’s kind of stupid to include the second game in the series and not the first, but BioWare has stated that all they want to do is to continue to put Mass Effect into as many gamers hands as they can.

A definitive release date for the game hasn’t been set at this time, but be on the look out for Mass Effect 2 in January of 2011.

I still haven’t bought Mass Effect 2 yet (I need to do that), so this might be a great way for me to pick up the game and get added content and materials compared to the Xbox 360 version. Or, I could still go the Xbox route and just pick up the game for cheap (if they release the game on the PS3 for the normal $60 dollar price tag). I guess it all boils down to how much you want that added content and if it’s worth it to you?

That is pretty cool I just picked it up for 30 and got to a point where I had to disc swap. Then the game crashed. Lame I thought at that moment I need the Blu-ray disc for this so no more disc swaps. I’m might just sell this on eBay and wait.
