Yesterday marked the first time the PlayStation Store updated on a Tuesday here in North America. Instead of waiting until Thursdays every week, PS3 owners can now get their content two enormous days earlier, bringing release dates to parity with their Xbox 360 brethren.

It was really annoying how Modern Warfare 2’s online play said all day that the map pack was available for download even though it wasn’t. I waited for the better part of May 4th to get my new maps and start playing. In the central time zone the maps didn’t come out until 5pm. That means I waited most of 17 hours for the new maps because every website said the maps are live and even the game said they were too! IF and PS I understand that 5pm is still May 4th, but the curious thing to do would have been to include the launch time as well. But! Even then I understand with all the player drooling over their controllers to get the stimulus package it would have been pure chaos having everybody sign into the store at one moment trying to download a 300 mb map pack. Thank you for making the game, spawning still sucks and newb tubes are super stupid with danger close pro but in the end nicely done… just next time give us a time to go with the date and don’t make it 5pm. because for download content all you have to do is set a time to be available it’s not like 5 pm was some magical moment for them to release it nope they could have started at midnight! so yes thank you.
The maps are real cool. The price was okay and the download took some time. I must say that i was very dissapointed with the ’stimulus pack’. Like I said I did like the maps however I and evryone I know play Team Death Match. You cant just play in this mode you have to play all the other dumb modes like sabotage, demolition, capture the flag and then hope you get a team death match game. I played for 2 hours and only once got a team death match! This sucks! If I had known that I would not have bought the pack. I ended up just going back to the old maps because there you can play in the mode you want. Dont buy this until you can play in the mode of your choice.
Hey Peter, you know that the maps are still in the classic modes as well, right? You don’t have to play the Stimulus Package modes specifically to play in the new maps. Just thought I would share since I’ve been playing these for the last month on my Xbox.
