Avatar really set the 3D revolution down a long and winding path. With 3D HDTV’s hitting store shelves, the PS3 getting a firmware upgrade to support the new technology and every movie coming out requiring those extra glasses, it’s only natural someone would take advantage of the new way of viewing things in your pocket. Enter Nintendo, who announced the 3DS, a new version of the DS that supports 3D without any glasses. Thank Jebus, because walking around playing Mario Kart with 3D glasses would get you beat up faster than anything else you can imagine.
Nintendo seems to have grand dreams of releasing a new version of the DS every year. In this case, I’m going to have to skip. I made the jump to the DSi for the DSiWare service, which hasn’t panned out all that well. Until there is a killer 3D game on the new 3DS, I’m going to wait, even though it will play DS and DSi games (will DSiWare titles transfer?).
It’ll be interesting to see what Nintendo has to say about the 3DS at E3 this year. I’m hoping to get my hands on the device if they have it available.

Nintendo is just pissing me off here. Stop releasing new consoles every year, I’ve stopped buying them. If they would invest in making something that lasts more than a year I may return to buy their products. It’s not worth my money to buy something that will be out of date in less than 9 months.
I think its a cool Idea adding 3D without the glasses. I hope they add more though than the same thing rehashed with 3D. Either way probably won’t buy it though
