Pocket Clinic puts you as a Doctor in a new clinic, trying to save infected tissues from being overrun by disease. The objective is to quarantine all viruses into the infected side of the tissue, while keeping all the healthy cells on the un-infected side. The game is controlled by either using the iPhone’s tilt controls, or the touch screen, to move a small gate between the sides of the tissue. This allows the cells to pass through to their respective sides. There are other modes thrown in later in the game, and it is fun. New enemies and objectives are added as you play, but for some reason it gets monotonous very quickly.
There are a few factors that I think contribute to this. The premise is a little boring, with lame dialogue and encouragements from a stereotypically-busty nurse, and the game soundtrack is a low, droning mish mash with some sort of mysterious bell tolling in the background. It’s all very droll, and actually made me feel tired. I think this game could be better, with an improvement on the premise of why you are playing, and the soundtrack has got to go. This is the only game I have played where it was simultaneously fun, and boring at the same time. This one wasn’t a winner or a loser either way. At $1.99, it’s really a toss-up for me.

Thanks a lot for the review Ryan! We’ll look in your suggestions and try to improve the game. Pocket Clinic might seem pretty easy in the initial levels but as you progress the level become all the more tough and difficult to beat. We’ve also added 3 mini-games which provide a break from the main gameplay.

Good! I am glad to see this game won’t be left to die like so many other iPhone games with great potential. I will definitely be checking out the updated product!
