Cake Mania 3 is exactly what it sounds like. It is a game about making cakes at a maniac pace. The premise of the story is quite simple. You are an woman named Jill, who is about to get married, but disaster strikes. She has received a device called the time bender, which she got at the end of Cake Mania 2. The device shatters and her family and friends each grab a piece and are subsquently transported back into time. Jill must travel back in time to the appropriate time period and restore her life to normalcy by guess how? Baking cakes.

The gameplay is actually pretty simple and easy to pick up. You have to make certain cakes based on the customer’s request. The cake itself, icing, whether they want tea, etc, will decide how you prepare said cake. You must do so in a timely fashion and make as much money as you can. There will be customers hell bent on making your life difficult such as dragons, witches, and Robin Hood will come take your money. You will also encounter some historical characters like the Hunchback in Notre Dame, the emperor of France and other surprises. If you work fast enough, you can get a “sugar rush” that makes cakes come out at an instant.

The game requires some strategy, the graphics are quite good, and the game expanded on the original and sequel which were popular. There are upgrades that can be kept and though the story is as nonsensical as you could fathom, but fun nonetheless. This one of those games you will either love or hate. If you like a game that requires you to act and think quickly based on your surroundings you will have fun. There are a lot of features here and with the mini-games and the 6 levels of game play, you will have fun with Cake Mania 3 IF you like these sorts of games. If you do, I would recommend picking this up.
