Take a Dive, Eidos!

Man, things are getting out of whack this year in gaming. First, Japan is going nuts with their depressing state because of lack of innovation last year, Haze developers are squandering looking for potential buyers for their withering studio, and now Eidos’ shares drop 25%. I knew they should’ve released Tomb Raider in the nude…

The latest Lara Croft adventure, Tomb Raider: Underworld, has prompted share holders to sell-off their piece of the pie causing the publisher’s stock to fall by 25 percent after the markets opened this morning. I’m sure a couple of people over at Eidos are filling some duffle-bags with shotguns and flash bangs right about now. It’s not looking too bright over there.

Eidos’ stock closed last night at 17.25 but opened today at 12.25 following a statement that revenues would be around $20 million lower than expected. Time Warner increased its holding in the company to around 20 percent after the company changed its name from SCi to Eidos. Whether or not Eidos is still up for grabs is unknown, but the big-boy publishers (EA, SquareEnix, etc.) are keeping their eyes open for any signs of buying.

Take it from me, Eidos. Tomb Raider has become nothing more than a strip-tease for virgin gamers (probably non-virgins too). Lara Croft has been replaced with other hotties like the Dead or Alive chicks and even Nariko from Heavenly Sword. But the fact of the matter is we need new material. Either that, or release something along the lines of, I don’t know, SOUL REAVER! I mean, Jesus, this game has been due for a new installment since like forever. Your call, Eidos. Your call.

Stock dropping quick, reports of layoffs… not a good time for Eidos.

Seriously, release Tomb Raider in the nude and your shares will sky rocket! LOL

The series was good and had a long run but sometimes enough is, enough. Square should buy Eidos and handle it and see how things work out. I don’t see how EA would possibly manage Eidos, who knows. But that’s just wishful thinking.

She runs around in the same ol Cargo daisy dukes all day. And that nice sky blue tang top. Stop please. Tomb raider was fun on PS1, when diving from 12 stories, head first, into nothing but earth…pixels. Watching her crinkle up and scream was so wonderful.
