In what could be the dumbest law on the books, you can now go to jail for life in the state of New York for selling an M or AO rated video game to a minor.
The video game law makes it a felony in the state of New York to sell M or AO rated games to minors. There’s also a 3 Strikes law which states that after 3 felony convictions, you can (and most likely will) go to jail for life. So in theory, any video game store employee could go to jail for life for selling 3 copies of Grand Theft Auto to a 16 year old kid.
To put it in perspective, for alcohol and tobacco, the sale of these products to minors is a misdemeanor. Selling rated R movies to a minor is not a crime at all.
Why must video games be persecuted in ways that dwarf that of much worse products? A kid buying a bottle of Captain Morgan and a pack of Newport Lights is WAY worse than playing GTA or Gear of War for a few hours.
I think some politicians need to get their heads out of their asses.

Movies that are rated R have plenty of violence and I dont see people carding at Best Buy or Target for films like Robocop or Terminator. WTF is the big deal about a video game which is way less real. I dont quite understand the logic. If a parent finds games questionable then take them away form your child. Lawmakers are gettign too bent out of shape over this, felony counts for selling games, WTF?! And I dont get why it should become AO, that makes it sound like its some kind of sex simulator game/porn, when its just some dude shanking another dude, you see more than that on HBO now adays, will we ban HBO???
what is this world coming to you know at one point i want to live in new york live on the city streets of nyc living the good life but now im just gonna stay in chicago why do politicians care so much, what about the war huh think about instead of video games, and also ive seen movies (300) that when a person gets there head cut off it looks almost completely real (to those whove seen it you know what i mean) when a person gets there head blown off in gears of war and you seee it for the first time you dont even cares its like wow thats cool but you get over it but there a loophole to this just give your dad some money and ask him to buy it…… thats what i did to get tenchu z
