How much of GTA IV have you finished?

gta-43.jpg
Well since launch I have been able to finish roughly 17% of the game, between getting in some multiplayer and just purely exploring the city and was curious where everyone was up to and how long it has taken you to get there. With so many different aspects of the game you can delve into it makes it tough to stay on task and just run missions, multiplayer alone can keep you busy with some friends for hours at a time.

There is an achievement for getting all 100%, but I do not foresee myself attaining this high honor, at least no time soon that is. i know a few people that actually gave up on the game after experiencing some bugs with the game, so far I have only frozen once and was able to just turn my Xbox 360 off and back on and jump back into the game with little issues other than losing what I had done form the last autosave.

Who has the better trailer?

This guy looks just like Niko

Nelson Rodriguez aka Niko
Actually this “guy” is Nelson Rodriguez of GamerscoreBlog. Here is a quick bio of him:

Nelson was born and raised in the South Bronx. His life dream was to play video games in his living room for profit. Though that never panned out, he built achievementjunkie.com, a podcast and blog about the Xbox 360, with his partner Natalie Sousa. He now works as an Online Community Manager for Xbox and Games for Windows.

The resemblance between him and Niko is uncanny, couldn’t help posting it up and a special shout out to Nelson for being a good sport and taking that picture and for being a fellow New Yorker!

GTA IV Freezing on the PS3

In case you have not heard problems with GTA IV are being confirmed, there are some freezing issues on the PS3 and no one has figured out how to fix it yet or where exactly it is coming from, there was some speculation that is was happening on launch PS3’s only, but that has been dis-proven. Watch as this guy drives around and the game randomly freezes for a few seconds, pretty annoying. I have also gotten confirmation that similar things are happening on the Xbox 360 as well.

NES DVD player mod

Do you have an old NES console lying around in your closet? Do you need an extra DVD player in your house? Well then chekc out what this guy did, he actually modded his classic NES and made it into a DVD player. Pretty sweet, would have been even better if he crammed an Xbox in there. This is the only Nintendo system to ever be able to play DVD’s, well done!

Xbox Live Orientation

If you have never played online before you need to watch this video now. This video pretty much sums up all the current issues with playing on Xbox Live. With GTA IV coming very soon expect the level of sheer stupidity over Xbox Live to increase about ten fold, with everyone being an online gangster and acting the fool. Good times!

Lines of the video:
Q: Any Silver members in the room? A: Good, get out!
Q: What do you like doing? A: Your mom.

Interview with Guinness World Record holder for Tapper

Tapper
We told you we would get some thoughts form the current Guinness World Record holder for fastest time through the first 5 stages of Tapper and we deliver. Look into the mind of man consumed by everything Tapper related.

Loot Ninja: Tell us a bit about yourself and how long you have been gaming.
Michael P.: I’m 25, and I’m from the middle of nowhere in western PA. I moved to NYC about 7 months ago, and I’m currently a graphic designer at a web marketing company in Brooklyn. I’m still trying to figure out what I really want to do though. I’ve been gaming for about as long as I can remember. Although my dad has long since stopped gaming, he is the one that got me started with ColecoVision. I can remember playing that obsessively until around 1990 when we got an NES. My favorite games for Coleco are Jumpman Junior, The Heist, Oil’s Well and Squish’em Sam. After SNES, I stopped playing the new ones so much. Every once in awhile though, I get really into a new game. I’m really into drumming in Rock Band right now. I love Mario Kart 64, and my favorite game ever might be Amplitude. I also like the color blue.

Frag Dolls - FPS Marathon

Looks like the frag Dolls took our Halo 3 non-stop gaming session and altered it a bit. They played Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for 24 hours straight on the Xbox 360 to raise money for breast cancer research and to set a Guiness world record.

I like how the blonde talks about coming out of the restroom and looking for a tactical advantage about 14 hours into the event. Also her major complaint is “her bra hurting”. Some say that 3 girls playing game sis hot but something about 3 girls playing games for 24 hours straight with no shower breaks is a bit disturbing to me.

We are going to get Max into gear with that Halo 3 marathon! Good job to the Frag Dolls for setting the record and raising some money for this great cause. Congrats!! I didn’t know the Frag Dolls were British?!

Bioware’s Mass Effect For The PC To Introduce New HUD

Saren
Looks like PC gamers finally get something to brag about for waiting when they get Mass Effect, what you may ask… a new HUD (heads up display). So you aren’t impressed? Neither am I, but hey at least you get something that differentiates the PC from the console version, some new maps or extras would have been better, but deal with it. Expect Mass Effect with it’s new PC HUD towards the end of May, be patient PC gamers.

Here is the official word:

BioWare today announces an entirely new Tactical Heads-Up Display (HUD) for Mass Effect on the PC. The new HUD allows players to access the Individual Squad Command, Biotics powers and Abilities and Weapons command interfaces all in one screen, and can be accessed simply by pressing the space bar. The new Tactical HUD makes executing a variety of important commands a very natural and quick experience so players can get back into the action.

Xbox Live Down on April 1 - But Why?

Just kidding
Some of you have already probably received the message on your Xbox Live account from MS that service will be interrupted on April 1, 2008

This is what Gamerscore Blog wrote:

We’re hearing that Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com will be down for routine maintenance for about three hours on Tuesday, April 1, from 2-5 AM PDT (0900-1200 GMT).

Here is what the message from Xbox Live reads on our machines:

Xbox Live will be unavailable for approximately 3 hours on April 1st 2008 to upgrade the service starting 2PM PDT.

Subtle yet different, the quote from Gamerscore Blog leads us to believe that it is just normal site maintenance while the one in our Xbox Live accounts lets us know that it is some kind of upgrade? Perhaps a new “spring update” for us all or just a dirt dirty April fool’s joke to toy with our emotions! Rather interesting since people were so up in arms after the past Live outage, risky to say the least, perhaps it has something to do with the new Halo maps?

What do you think?
