Who doesn’t want to jack up a hobo here and there? With Penny Arcade Adventures, you’ll get your chance. The game is looking fairly promising, and will be coming to PC, Mac, and the Xbox Live Marketplace. I wonder why no PSN love?
Regarding the post that had been stirring up some shit about the pre-order-only content for Lost Odyssey. It is now available for download on XBL sometime in the spring.
Many people had gotten upset at the idea that they would not get the full game unless forced to pre-order (myself included). Now they tell us we can get the content later. I have to ask - isn’t it just as bad that they remove chunks of the game in order to make extra money? Maybe I’m making too much out of this, who knows. It just sounds like bullshit to me. I know that the way things work sometimes, but can’t I just buy a friggin’ game anymore? Read More »
The awesome lineup that is Xbox Originals is expanding once again. Thanks to a heads up from Gamerscoreblog, Burnout 3 will be available for download on January 14th at 2AM Pacific for 1200 points. Here are some of the details:
Burnout® 3: Takedown rewrites the rules of the road. Arcade racing is now driven by a new mantra: Aggressive Racing Required. Racing gamers and adrenaline junkies are invited behind the wheel to experience unprecedented speed and action. Use your car to battle your way to the front of the pack. Take down rivals and trigger spectacular crashes.
Risk and reward: Earn boost by taking risks and battling your competitors through oncoming traffic, near-misses, tailgating, jumps, and drifting.
Crash mode: Cause wanton destruction in a mode dedicated to crashing. Racers are challenged to crash into (and through) busy intersections, creating carnage and as much damage as possible. Unlock new rewards and more features!
Incredible depth: Maximize mayhem with 67 cars, 40 different races, and 100 crash junctions on three different continents.
Multiple race types: Scream through nine different race modes including: Single Race, Tournament, Lap Eliminator, Burning Lap, Road Rage, and more.
Awesome crash technology: Take advantage of sophisticated simulation modeling that recreates high-speed crashes with extreme detail. Use your car to take out opponents—you’ll continue controlling your vehicle even after crashing!
This Wednesday, you can treat yourself to not one, but two titles from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Omega Five and Tron will be available tomorrow on an Xbox 360 near you.
Hardcore and casual gamers alike will love “Omega Five,” a new high-definition shooter with awe-inspiring graphics. “Omega Five” features a gorgeous and challenging environment, with enemies coming at players from all angles, even the background. Battle enemies as Ruby, Tempest or other unlockable characters and simply add another controller to play local co-op with a friend. “Omega Five” features the highest quality visuals available on an Xbox LIVE Arcade shooter and offers multiple levels of difficulty including “++Mode” where players are only allowed one hit! The game will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB.
The game sounds like a winner to me. We’ll have some videos for you soon.
According to Majornelson, these are the most used titles on Xbox Live this year:
Xbox 360 Top Live Titles 1 Halo 3
2 Call of Duty 4
3 Gears of War
4 Guitar Hero III
5 Burnout Paradise Demo
6 Assassin’s Creed
7 Madden NFL 08
8 Mass Effect
9 Kane & Lynch (Demo)
10 Guitar Hero II
I don’t really understand this list. Assassin’s Creed is not a multiplayer game. I guess people just auto logged on while playing. Seems like a sort of useless list but its good to see what is the most popular at the time.
Just in case you need to buy a cheap gift for a friend who is a fellow gamer and said friend lives far away or you are just to lazy to mail it, you can now buy them and deposit them in some one else’s account. Thanks to Majornelson, the points can be purchased by clicking on HERE. You can also link to it from Majornelson’s home page, but this is the same redirect. All you need is your Windows Live ID, a credit card, and some holiday spirit. This is the Beta version of this and is currently only allowed in the US. Sorry to all our friends across the pond.
Note: As of right now, you need the person’s Windows Live ID, which is basically the email address they use for their account. Gamertag transfers will be available soon, but not in this current beta version.
Some new Bioshock content went live today on Xbox Live. There are 6 videos, all free and in HD that will show you the locations of all the audio diaries located throughout Rapture. Just in case you played the game and did not listen to these, well, they are super creepy and often add good plot details. Again, free. Free.
Here is a list of the new planes that are available to download off of XBL. One plane is free, but the others will cost you between 200-400 points. The game is awesome by the way and Gamefly is sending me a copy now; I played it on a friend’s machine. I’m not a huge fan of paying for anything supplemental to a game and Maps are the only exception. Click more for the list and appropriate pricing. If anyone has bought these planes, let me know how they are.
So is your Xbox 360 in the need of a little flavor? Yes you say? Then shoot on over to the Xbox LIVE marketplace and grab all of your Swizz Beats themes, pics and interviews. Fo Shizzle ma nizzle, It’s me snitches!
Although I think it is an interesting idea to put out these themes for download, I don’t get the idea of charging for them. These should be free and then you can sign me up, until then I will pass on Swizz Beats, unless they bring an all nude Fergie version, then we might talk again. Read More »
The first map pack for Halo 3 was made available and they are a nice addition to the current maps. The good thing that Bungie did here was make maps that were both diverse in design as well as game play. I’ll tell you a little about each map and my general feelings on it.
Standoff
This a decent map that is basically symmetrical. There are two bases that have retractable shields and a cool flame hallway that can be turned on. The map is also vehicle friendly. There are warthogs on the map and are best used in the capture the flag and team slayer modes. I found that 8 players is a good size but 14 and up makes the map way too crowded with people running in every direction. You will not find any sniper rifles and only a few battle rifles along with a single spartan laser and rocket launcher. This is a fun map especially in games that require team strategy.
We're like Spaceballs... we're making Loot Ninja everything. Coming soon we'll have hats, shirts, hoodies, possibly banana hammocks if one Editor has his way...
