Here is a heads up on another easy contest (link still broken) from MS. You need to download the Cause Chaos gamerpic and theme, which are free. Once you do so, you will be entered into the contest that runs from September 25-28. Right around the time Halo 3 was released last year…hmm. Its a GTA 4 theme so its not like you are getting Axe body spray ads plastered across your dash.
I’m a hardcore gamer and XBLA games do not really interest me at all. MS knows that despite the high volume of games, very few are even worth a demo download. They promise to change that all this fall with the new dashboard update. After watching this, I have to say that I am interested where I couldn’t give two shits before.
7 is the lucky number for out friends over at Bungie and every year on 7/7, we get a bevy of free DLC. This monday is no different. This is what is on the table:
7 Exclusive new gamerpictures and a Bungie day theme will be available on Marketplace. These are available for one day only.
Cold Storage, a free new Halo 3 multiplayer map inspired by the original map Chill Out found in “Halo: Combat Evolved”
The Legendary Map Pack will drop in price to 600 points
Remember, the gamerpics are only free on Monday. If you forget, they are off the market. Anytime we get a free Halo 3 map is a great day.
There are 2 downloads that have just been released for PGR4. The FREE one, which includes a concept car and 2 new games modes will also net you 10 new achievements. The Premium content, which will cost 400 points, includes 7 new cars and a new World Challenge mode which in itself includes 20 new events. Hit the jump for the full descriptions.
Two new arcade games are will be available on Wednesday Feb 13. The two games are:
Commanders: Attack of the Genos is an accessible turn-based tactical battle game providing challenge for all levels of players. The genetically enhanced army of the Genos have decided to attack Earth. With your powerful Commander unit, use Missile Launchers, Bombers, Infantry, and other attack units to cripple the enemy and defend your territory—online or off!
Anyone who wants to give another FPS a tryout, you have your chance. The futuristic shooter, Frontlines: Fuel of War is now ready in the form of a multiplayer demo. The game’s trailers looked good and the weapons promise to be both creative and deadly. The genre is already insanely crowded though. I’ll put COD4 down for a minute, give this a try. Chances are I’ll fire COD4 back up pretty soon.
Who doesn’t want to jack up a hobo here and there? With Penny Arcade Adventures, you’ll get your chance. The game is looking fairly promising, and will be coming to PC, Mac, and the Xbox Live Marketplace. I wonder why no PSN love?
Regarding the post that had been stirring up some shit about the pre-order-only content for Lost Odyssey. It is now available for download on XBL sometime in the spring.
Many people had gotten upset at the idea that they would not get the full game unless forced to pre-order (myself included). Now they tell us we can get the content later. I have to ask - isn’t it just as bad that they remove chunks of the game in order to make extra money? Maybe I’m making too much out of this, who knows. It just sounds like bullshit to me. I know that the way things work sometimes, but can’t I just buy a friggin’ game anymore? Read More »
