Weapon design contests are all the rage these days. Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time recently had one and now Army of Two: The 40th Day is jumping in the ring. The first Army of Two had a similar contest as well.
One lucky winner will get their weapon in the game. All you have to do is submit a picture and a 200 word description on the official Army of Two website. If you want the full rules, check them out there too.
I’m willing to bet a few of you submit rocket launchers that shoot dildos. Some of you might have done so already. You know who you are
Since it’s Bungie Day, the good people over at (where else) Bungie have graced us with some new images and details about Halo 3.
The first bit of info they’ve given us is the Brute Chopper (pictured above). Looks pretty crazy. Click here for a 360 degree Quicktime view.
The Type-25 RAV has become more common with the reappearance of the Brutes as frontline troops. Although it has not totally replaced the “ghost” as the primary rapid assault vehicle of the Covenant ground forces, it is usually piloted by higher ranking individuals. The vehicle is capable of momentary bursts of speed up to 120 kph (75 mph). The vehicle is armed with four (4) linked forward-firing light autocannons.
Looks like it’ll be a good vehicle with some fairly decent firepower.
I spent a good bit of time this morning in the Warhawk beta on PS3. This will be a must have when it’s released. Hands down.
The controls are really good for both ground and aerial combat. It took me a bit to figure out what buttons did what actions, but once it did it was on like donkey kong. I spent a good deal of time running around, capturing flags and territories (depending on the game type), while most people stayed up in the air to fight it out. Once I did get in the air, I got my ass kicked. I’ve never been great at aerial combat, and this isn’t an exception. However, I did find the controls much easier than say a Crimson Skies type of game. I’ll have to fly around more and see what I can do. I did shoot down a couple people, which was nice.
I’m telling you, I was like Annie Oakley with the pistol. If you were running across the field, you were as good as dead. The magnum however in Halo 2 was terrible. Unless you were within arms distance, the gun was more or less useless. Computerandvideogames.com reports that not only is the pistol back complete withe 2x zoom, they have released a drawing of it.
