Some viral campaigns are awesome. Some are shit. Many others fall somewhere in the middle, like the new Tekken 6 viral video series. While I’m a big fan of fighting games and Tekken, this doesn’t do too much to get me excited for the game. The slow-mo fighting is cool, but I want to see someone actually get punched. I’m picking up Tekken 6 regardless, so hopefully the future videos in this series show some more action.
A gamer posted a YouTube video last year where Tiger shot a ball out of the water, while standing on it. An obvious glitch in the game right? This new viral ad shows just how good Tiger is. Now if he can only turn some water into some purple kool-aid. Kidding.
So I’m driving to Delaware for my overnight stay with my parents on my way to North Caroline for vacation. I get a call on my cell. The caller ID shows (000) 000-0000. Hmmm. I don’t answer, obviously. Then my iPhone tells me I have a voicemail. Upon listening, I get creeped out.
The message is the girl from the videos at Project Abraham, the viral website for Resistance 2. She’s telling me how hard the decision is to send troops to die, and help join the cause. Very cool, very creepy. Good job in that respect.
I’m not sure if this call when out to press only, but Sony is doing a damn good job marketing this game. I’m extremely excited for it, especially with all the viral stuff they have going on. If you haven’t checked out Project Abraham yet, get over there and see what’s up.
The new Batman movie has been on a viral campaign ever since a movie website went up and went down in a matter of weeks. Here is a link to the The Gotham Times, which is the apparent newspaper of the fictional city. Its an interesting read if you have nothing to do. There is a hidden easter egg to find. You will notice on page 1(there is a page link on the bottom right), on the leftmost column, under the Mobsters Fight for Dominance, there is a slight tear in the paper if you look close enough. Click on the left most tear, and you will notice the paper peels back. Beneath is a paper, but with the Joker’s own personal touches. Check it out.
