Battlefield: Bad Company from EA/Dice gives you the opportunity to blow up buildings, vehicles, and people in a variety of different ways. Experience huge open field battles either on foot or in a tank, whichever you prefer, but it’s up to you and your squad to bring victory.
Bad Company has a single player campaign that revolves around Private Preston Marlowe and his new band of misfits, the B Company. B Company are the unwanted soldiers that no one would remember if they died. As part of this crew, you are thrown into Russian enemy territory and realize after some time that the Army has left you behind. In doing so, you decide to go off on your own and collect some gold that is scattered around the different enemy camps. Read More »
Iron Man the movie was stellar and Iron Man the game tried hard to but fell quite short of stellar. The game tries to keep up with the movie and even uses the voices of Terrence Howard and Robert Downey, but deviates very quickly from the movie plot right after the first stage. The cut scenes and sounds are not impressive even with the use of the original actors voices, not sure why they couldn’t pony up and get the song from Iron Man in there.
The first stage has you breaking out of the cave where the movie begins and I have to say that this stage is horrible. The physics on the first stage are terrible and the graphics are a sad sight to see on a next-gen console. You can’t fly in this suit and only run around which may be part of the problem, but walking feels like you are on an ice rink and setting people on fire is so non-realistic, probably to retain a non Mature rating. The first stage really was a sad sight to see, but once you hit the second stage you can see a quick upgrade.
I had almost forgotten that the Street Fighter game had gotten official G.I. Joe toys, some with “real ninja moves”. They had even made vehicles that came with Championship edition characters with the different color variants from the game, which is really milking it. These were actual G.I. Joe figures too, I think I owned a few of them like Vega, E-Honda and Sagat. Take a trip down memory lane and bask in the glory of the sophisticated special effects in this commercial.
This isn’t the first car manufacturer to implement a video game into their ad campaign, but this one was done damn good. Spy Hunter was one of my favorite games growing up, I mean how could you argue against the greatness of a car that turned into a boat?
Pontiac took the classic Spy Hunter game, complete with catchy song and incorporated it into their new commercial for the new G8 GT. This is right up there with the Toyota World of Warcraft commercial if not better. My favorite part has to be where the car spins out on the oil slick, I used to love to drop the oil and the smoke to mess up the enemies.
This just goes to show how important and iconic video games have become, they are becoming vehicles to help sell and promote things other than video game consoles. Can’t wait to see video game commercials for selling your house, perhaps an EA Sims themed commercial?
Since it’s Bungie Day, the good people over at (where else) Bungie have graced us with some new images and details about Halo 3.
The first bit of info they’ve given us is the Brute Chopper (pictured above). Looks pretty crazy. Click here for a 360 degree Quicktime view.
The Type-25 RAV has become more common with the reappearance of the Brutes as frontline troops. Although it has not totally replaced the “ghost” as the primary rapid assault vehicle of the Covenant ground forces, it is usually piloted by higher ranking individuals. The vehicle is capable of momentary bursts of speed up to 120 kph (75 mph). The vehicle is armed with four (4) linked forward-firing light autocannons.
Looks like it’ll be a good vehicle with some fairly decent firepower.
