New Content Coming to R6: Vegas 2

Rainbox Six Vegas 2 Fan Pack Screen

Some free stuff content is coming to Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. That’s right, I said the magic word: FREE. Ubisoft will be releasing the Fan Pack containing three new maps, further ranks to obtain past Elite, some gameplay balancing tweaks, and a new tactical-based gameplay mode called High Stakes.

If you aren’t playing R6: Vegas 2 online, you’re definitely missing out. It’s one of the best online shooters out there, right along with CoD4, Bad Company, and Halo 3. It definitely sticks out from the crowd with it’s unique gameplay modes, especially my favorite: Terrorist Hunt.

The Fan Pack is scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 in late July, so stay tuned as we get a firm release date from Ubisoft. Should be a good summer for gaming.

PS3 Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Online Problems

R6 Vegas 2 Screen

It seems like we have another case of a third party developer not making things work right on the PS3. This time, Ubisoft dropped the ball with Rainbox Six: Vegas 2.

According to reports all over the intarwebs, Ubisoft’s new first person shooter has major online problems with the PS3. Users are either not able to connect at all, or they get so much lag the games are unplayable.

With most of Ubisoft’s development team off for the Easter holiday, gamers are going to have to wait a while to get this fixed. Whether it’s a server issue or the game needs to be patched, Ubisoft better get on this one quick to avoid a firestorm. Gamers aren’t the friendliest people when something isn’t perfect.

Video Comparison of RB6: V2 on PS3 and Xbox 360

There are rumors that these videos are skewed to one side or another, but someone like me who has both consoles would like to at least compare the games and then decide which one to purchase. Word is the 360 is a little better, but see for yourself.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 – Launch Trailer

The game finally hit the shelves today and 2006′ s breakthrough shooter looks to be another great installment of the famed series. Just in case you were on the fence, here is one last look and final trailer of the game.

World Premiere Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Trailer

Ubisoft released a “World Premier” trailer for R6: Vegas 2 at the VGA’s last night. Where’s the footage here guys? The small amount of game footage (or CGI for that matter) you see in the trailer here can’t even be easily distinguished from the first R6: Vegas. I have high hopes for the game, but this trailer is meh.

High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition (PS3) Impressions

High Stakes Poker Screen

After spending a good part of an hour downloading the 300+ MB title, I finally got to gaming with High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition for the PS3. For $10, this game is a steal.

When you first start play, you are prompted to create a character. The game has slots for 4 created characters, each of which will retain their own bankroll and statistics. Initially there aren’t a lot of customizations for your character, as you have to unlock these with further play. You’ll get new shirts, pants, shoes, glasses, and other paraphernalia.
