An update was released this week for GT5: Prologue for the PS3 bringing with it some new gameplay elements and three new cars. One the gameplay side of things, Time Trial event speed penalties have been removed. Now, instead of getting a penalty, that whole lap doesn’t count. In Race events, the difficulty has been tweaked a bit and you get more cash for finishing in first place. A few other minor changes were made as well.
The big news is the new cars. The first of which is a “GT by Citroen” concept car. The actual car made its debut at the Paris Motor Show last week and you can see a video of it in action on GT TV in the game. Along with the concept car, you can now drive a Ferrari California and Lotus Evora. Good stuff. You can see screens of the Ferrari and Lotus after the jump.

You know all that hub-bub about Beta levels not making it to the full game? MediaMolecule heard your cries and has released a new version of the LittleBigPlanet Beta. Bad news though, as you have to delete your current game save. Anything you created and did in the game will be gone. It was going to happen eventually anyway, why not get it over with now?
To get the new release, you have to jump through a couple hoops. Delete the game from your PS3 hard drive and delete the game save as well. Then, fire up the PlayStation Store and go to View Downloads. Scroll down until you find the LBP Beta and download it again. Viola.
I’m downloading mine now and will have to play through a lot of the Story again. Oh well, it’s fun as shit anyway

Xbox Live is going down on Monday to get some massive server upgrades and software overhauls to prepare for the upcoming New Xbox Experience. From the one and only Larry Hyrb (better know as Major Nelson):
On Monday, 9/29/2008 from 12:01 AM PST for up to 24 hours, Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, Xbox LIVE and the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions.
This service maintenance is in preparation for the new Xbox experience which will be available later this fall.
Let me reiterate: When the service returns, you will not have any new features and you will not have the new Xbox experience update. That will happen later this Fall.
So don’t plan on playing online with your Xbox 360 on Monday. I’m betting we get the update sometime in October. If we go by past dash updates, things usually come out around a week or two after the scheduled maintenance on the servers. We’ll see what happens.

It is hard to believe that Halo 3 is almost one year old. I remember it like yesterday as MS shut down 5th avenue and grown men missed days of work go home and finish the fight. I just got mine the next day during lunch from Target. The new title update will gives us major, and I mean major changes to the game. Playlists are being modified or deleted altogether and the ranking system will be revamped completely. Here is all ye need to know about what goes down as the update will be ready on Sept 23 with all new achievements enabled except for the special birthday achievement. Get ready finish the fight again.

We saw some screen pics from PAX showing new achievements for Halo 3 and Bungie has been tight lipped ever since. Until now. In their weekly update, they confirm that a title update coming later this month will add 10 achievements for an additional 250 Gamerscore points. You can see them all after the jump.
However, the achievements they list aren’t all the ones we saw at PAX, and Bungie confirmed that more are coming, but who knows when. No word yet on when the new Assembly map will be released or what the whole Mythic stuff is all about. Only time will tell, since Bungie keeps everything close to their vest.
