Today at Leipzig, Sony announced a new 160GB PS3 SKU. Damn! Looks like they’re serious about digital distribution if they’re upping things that much. The “limited edition” bundle will include a copy of Uncharted and a voucher to download PAIN on the PSN. You alse get a DualShock 3 for the cool price of $499.99.
It’s important to note that this new PS3 unit is not backwards compatible, has 2 USB ports, and no media card reader slots. I guess that functionality is now gone.
The new bundle is set to ship in the US in November with an October 31st release date in Europe. Sounds good to me!

Guess I know what I’ll be playing when I get back from vacation. The Uncharted Trophy patch is now available everywhere in the world. The 13MB download will allow you to level up your PS3 life.
I’ve been wanting to get back to Uncharted for a while now. I’m about halfway through on my current play-through, but it’s been a long time so I’ll probably just start over to get the Trophies.
I bet a few of our readers will be hopping all over this one.

In an interview with IGN, Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer confirmed that an upcoming Uncharted patch will bring 48 Trophies to the game.
You’ll be able to get up to 48 Trophies in Uncharted. There are 47 Trophies related to what you do in the game — finding treasures, hand-to-hand or gun combat and the like — and the last one is the Platinum Trophy for getting all the other Trophies.
All 47 will be directly related to the accomplishments/medals already in the game, so you won’t be too surprised to see what’s there. No word yet on which will be Bronze, Silver, or Gold.
Even without Trophy support, there’s more than enough reason to play through Uncharted for a first, second, or even third time. It’s one hell of game (I picked it for Game of the Year 2007). Can’t wait for August to dust this one back off. There shouldn’t be much else out then, so it’s a good time to get back into the game.

Sony is bringing their pimp hand strong with the Home spaces for some of their first party titles, most notably Uncharted, Resistance, and Warhawk.
With Resistance, you’ll be able to walk around unseen parts of the game, presumably with your Home avatar. Not sure if you’ll be able to brings friends with you or not at this point. Another cool feature in the Resistance space is the ability to listen “intercepted” radio communications between European and U.S. forces that are designed to give you a better idea of what’s going on in the Resistance story.
In the Uncharted space, you’ll be able to explore virtually all of the Uncharted levels with your Home avatar with no enemies. Again, no confirmation of being able to do this with friends. Uncharted’s space also brings a 2D side-scrolling shooter with Nathan Drake that’s being described as a cross between Contra and Out of This World. Sign me up!
Finally, and what I think is the absolute coolest, is the Warhawk space. The space will serve as a virtual war room for up to 8 players to strategize before entering the game. Yeah, discussing battle plans. Big deal, you say. Well get this… you’ll be using a virtual “sand table” of the level to plan our your attacks and defenses. Sony’s going as far as to let you place army men avatars on the sand table to better visualize your plan of attack. Holy dookers people.
This takes my hopes for Home and raises them way up. Sony is said to be pitching this to third party developers as a way to extend the life of their games and bolster community around them. I’m pretty sure it’ll work. Can’t wait for this to launch and most games to take advantage of this technology.

It’s pretty well known I love Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Hell, I gave it Game of the Year. Fans of the series can expect some more adventure/shooting action as Naughty Dog has confirmed a sequel. Christophe Balestra, VP at Naughty Dog, confirmed it in an interview, as reported by Jeux France.
One expected it and Christophe Balestra, vice-president of Naughty Dog, officially confirms it at the time of an interview with LCI: very good Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will have right to its continuation, of course better according to statements’ of the creators. One awaits the first images and information.
Yeah, the translation isn’t the best, but you get the picture. Can’t say this was unexpected, given the immense critical success of the game. Can’t wait to play some more Uncharted, most likely in 2009.

2007 was one of the best years ever for gamers. We saw some amazing games on every platform. There were sequels that took their game to that next level, and new franchises that redefined their genre. With that said, there were just too many great games for the team here at Loot Ninja to come with a decisive overall Game of the Year. Two of us picked the same game, Call of Duty 4, but everyone else couldn’t agree on the best title of the year. We’ve got votes for Uncharted, Metroid Prime 3, and Halo 3. So we’re just going to let you see all of our picks for the coveted 2007 Game of the Year.

We ran a poll last week to try and find out what you thought would be the 2007 Game of the Year. A lot of you weighed in, and here’s how it came out. We’ll present the top 5 games here:
- Call of Duty 4 (19%)
- Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (17%)
- Halo 3 (11%)
- Super Mario Galaxy (11%)
- BioShock (10%)
Thanks to everyone who voted! There were a ton of great games this year, so making the elusive Game of the Year choice is tough. You can expect to see our picks this week.

For whatever ungodly reason, Naughty Dog’s first PS3 entry Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune has failed to live up to expectations on the sales floor. The NPD group has reported that only 117,000 copies were sold during the first two weeks. Leaving Uncharted out of the top ten software sales for the month of November. Personally, I think it’s a travesty. Drunk Pandas gave this a 4.75 of 5. Hell, just about everyone raved about this one. Hit the jump for more »

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is the newest franchise from long time PlayStation developer Naughty Dog, famous for the Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter series. The game stars Nathan Drake in a quest to find treasure hidden by his ancestor Sir Francis Drake. Does the new franchise work? Here is a breakdown of some of the facets of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for the PS3:
Presentation and Graphics: Uncharted is one of the best looking games on the market. Period. The game’s environments are very highly detailed and truly immerse you in the gameplay experience. Character models look terrific and animations are very fluid. Walking around the interactive environment is a lot of fun. Brush past a plant and it will react and move with you. You really feel the great scale of your surroundings when needed, and the cramped places as well. Drake’s Fortune has a very cinematic feel, with great facial expressions that really make you sympathize with the characters. 5 of 5

Uncharted is one of the best looking games available, hands down. The environments and character models are meticulously detailed and look fantastic. Framerate is rock solid with no screen tearing.
The game combines a lot of the great elements of recent games. You have duck-and-cover shooting gameplay, ala Gears of War coupled with great exploring and platforming ala Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia. I have to say, this combination works great. Naughty Dog made sure that every element of the game feels great. The controls are solid and the story is very immersive with great voice acting.
If you’re a fan of action/adventure games and own a PS3, you must buy this game. I’ll have a full review up over the weekend, but suffice it to say it will be getting a pretty high score.
