Okay, after quite a few hours of gameplay, in my opinion, this map pack is some of Treyarch’s best work to date. Simply put, these maps are awesome, and totally worth the download.

The third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War is scheduled for release today. This latest offering of n00b PWNING glory will feature three multiplayer maps (Battery, Revolution, and Breach), and one new Zombie map (Der Riese).
Below is the info provided by Treyarch:
Battery: Fight for ocean territory on an armored island surrounded by anti-ship mines and shore to ship cannons.
Revolution: Watch out for sniper fire as you defend Russia’s most coveted resource.
Breach: Keep a sharp eye out through the dense, overcast city streets, set at Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate. A lot of you will remember the original COD map “Dome” that takes place inside the Reichstag, which can be seen in the background, and on the fringes of ”Breach”.
Der Riese: This new zombie map is set in a Nazi research facility featuring the weapon upgrading Pack-A-Punch Machine. Use the teleporters to escape in an instant and fight to the death in pursuit of the map’s 10 new Zombie Achievements.

An”accidental” oversight saw the leaking of who will be developing Call of Duty 7. The game will almost definitely not be called that, but as far as time lines are concerned, it is number 7 until otherwise titled. Here is what was posted on LinkedIn by animator David Kim:
“I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7.”
Though this is big news considering how well the franchise has done, but is it any surprise. After Treyarch totally redeemed themselves with World at War after CoD 3 disappointed, they should stay in the loop. Allowing developers to alternate years with titles is a great business model. The time frame in which to finish the project and the ability to build off of what the predecessor has accomplished. Look for CoD 7 to hit the shelves in the fall of 2010.
Recently revealed on Gametrailers TV, developer Treyarch talks about a brand spanking new game mode for Call of Duty: World at War and it’s called Nazi Zombie Mode. That is right, Nazi freakin Zombie Mode, this is no joke. The extra game mode isn’t unlocked until you have defeated the single player campaign.
The mode will sport a basic economy where you can purchase weapons and board up windows to try and keep the zombies out. It is a 4 player cooperative game with an infinite amount of zombie waves. Basic communication will be required between you and your teammates to stay alive. Since there are infinite waves of zombies how can you tell if you really are kicking ass? Well the developers have given you a personal goal, they have reached level 23 themselves. If you reach level 24 you should probably step outside for a break as you have spent more time than the developers on the game and that’s sad.

Hello ballsiest statement of the week. In an interview with MCV, Treyarch creative boss Richard Farrelly said “We want to make CoD5 the best game ever.” Not the best Call of Duty, the best game of all time.
Ok, ease up there buddy. Sure, it’s using the CoD4 engine, which is fantastic. But the story is almost a step backwards moving back to World War II, even if it’s set in the Pacific. I have my doubts about this being the best Call of Duty game ever. I wouldn’t even try to touch the best game of all time.
Seriously, do they think this will be better than Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 3, Goldeneye, Half Life, Metal Gear Solid? I’m going to have to go with a strong no on that one.

Hey everybody! Remember this game? Yeah, you remember this game. Well you may or may not be glad to hear that after the Treyarchs fifth release in the COD series, all will be handed back to Infinity Ward. I for one welcome the return of the original developers – all I can hope for now is that Treyarch doesn’t screw up COD 5 like it did the series 3rd entry. For whatever reason the two studios have begun passing off COD to one another after every incarnation.
There are a few of you out there who get a little miffed at the trash talking being thrown Treyarchs way in regards to the series. But lets do a quick common sense comparison of both developers in regards to the franchise. Yeah?! Hit the jump for more

This one I really don’t understand. Developer Treyarch-responsible for the debacle that was COD3, has announced Call Of Duty 5. The peculiar thing is the series’ return to the WWII time period. Why on earth would you release another WWII shooter when your series has a hit with COD: Modern Warfare? Especially when you screwed up the release before?! Hit the jump for more
